There is a new place for local art lovers to check out work from local artists.

The Henry Arts Alliance and the Georgia Council for the Arts has teamed up with Hampton city officials to establish an art gallery at Hampton City Hall. It opened officially Oct. 17 with a reception at the site.

Art work currently on display has been provided by the Visual Artists Collective of Henry County as well as other local artists, including three students at Hampton High School.

Funding for the art gallery was provided through a Vibrant Communities Grant given by the Georgia Council for the Arts to the Henry Arts Alliance. That money was used to purchase equipment such as hanging materials that would create a permanent space for the gallery at City Hall.

The pieces on display in the gallery will rotate every six months. To see what is there right now, visit the Henry Arts Alliance’s Facebook page.
