Salvation Army Christmas Angel Tree Program begins

From Staff Reports

The Salvation Army, this week, launched its 2016 Christmas Angel Tree Program to assist needy families in our community by providing gifts and toys for children.

The Angel Tree program benefits families who are experiencing job loss, medical crisis and low-income issues. The Salvation Army screens families who request assistance to assess their needs to assure that those needs can be met.

Angel Trees can be placed at local churches to enable families to “adopt” children for the holidays.

The Salvation Army is also seeking volunteers to “Ring the Bell” during kettle season. The money collected in Henry County stays in the community to help families throughout the year.
