Henry County Fair coming in October

Special to The Times

The Kiwanis Club of Henry County has announced the dates for the annual Henry County Fair, October 4-8, 2016. This year includes an exciting, entertaining line-up of new and returning events and activities that will appeal to the entire family.

The fun begins Tuesday, October 4 and will run through Saturday, October 8 at Heritage Park, 101 Lake Dow Road in McDonough. The fair will open at 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and at 1 p.m. on Saturday. General admission is $6 for adults and $4 for children. Family and daily specials will also be offered during the week.

While the Henry County Fair dates back to at least the early twenties, the Kiwanis Club has hosted the annual event for over seventy years. All of the proceeds from the Henry County Fair benefit the Kiwanis Club of Henry County. The organization uses the funds for grants to local non-profit organizations throughout the year.

“The Kiwanis Henry County Fair is the highlight of our Club year,” says Kiwanis Club President Dennis Fanning. “We work all year to plan a fun, exciting experience that the whole family can enjoy.”

Once on the grounds, fair visitors will discover a schedule full of events to explore; delicious fair foods; the always popular 4-H petting zoo; daily entertainment on the Edward Jones Stage; special appearances by local celebrities, dance, cheer and martial arts groups; a midway full of thrilling rides and games; and much more.
