Law enforcement lunch at local church

Special to The Times

Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church recently held a luncheon in appreciation of all law enforcement men and women who serve the people of Henry County. The church is a small congregation, yet with all the recent nationwide deaths of those who protect and serve, they wanted to do something to show support.

They served approximately 28 Henry County Sheriff’s deputies and police officers from Henry county and the City of McDonough. When Sheriff McBrayer informed the congregation about deputies on duty at the Henry County Jail, takeout lunches were prepared for them as well. Rev Mike Nickolich said, “It brought our congregation closer to those men and women who sacrifice daily, to serve and protect us.”
