Now in its fourth year, LIFT is composed of 10 incoming first-year undergraduates who have shown strong leadership and service-oriented skills.

The yearlong leadership development program begins in August with a four-day, intensive backpacking and rock climbing experience in the mountains of North Carolina. The students are guided by Outward Bound, the most respected outdoor educator in the world.

Upon their return to the college, the class is introduced to campus leaders through a distinguished speaker series. They also participate in service projects on campus and in the community throughout the year.

Carli’s service has focused on athletics, where she has worked with tournaments featuring athletes in wheelchairs. She is a three-time recipient of the NCCA Crusader Award that is given to the athlete with the strongest representation of faith and sportsmanship. She is the daughter of Carrie and Joseph Jones.

Inclusion in the LIFT program is the highest non-academic honor offered to incoming freshmen.

Georgia’s oldest private institution of higher learning, LaGrange College is consistently ranked among the South’s top colleges by U.S.News & World Report. A four-year liberal arts and sciences college affiliated with the United Methodist Church, LaGrange offers more than 70 areas of study with an emphasis on global engagement and service.
