New Hope UMC invites the community to a Spaghetti Dinner for Fat Tuesday on February 9 from 6 until 8 p.m. The dinner is to celebrate the coming season of Lent. The church is located at 1960 New Hope Road at the intersection of LeGuin Mill Road. Donations cheerfully accepted.

Heritage Baptist Church will have a special Valentine’s Day service on Sunday, February 14 at 11 a.m. Also, there will be a vow renewal ceremony. The Southside Baptist Network, a multi-county, multi-ethnic association of over 75 Southern Baptist congregations based in McDonough, is sponsoring a major One-Day Conference, the Southside Summit. The theme is Gospel Advance. It will be held on Thursday, February 18, from 9 a.m. until 5:15 p.m. at Eagle’s Landing First Baptist, 2400 Hwy. 42 North, McDonough. Plenary Speakers include Dr. Albert Mohler, President of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Ky.; Pastor H. B. Charles of Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Fla.; Dr. Micah Fries, Vice President of LifeWay Research, Nashville, Tenn.; and Rev. Scott Smith of Evangelism Ministries, Georgia Baptist Mission Board, Duluth, Ga.
