Where In The World Is The Times

Special photo

The Times traveled recently with Belinda Deyton and her mother, Barbara Chambers on a trip to Alaska. After viewing a glorious sunset in Anchorage and touring they city, they rode a train through the glaciers and mountains to Seward where they boarded the ship for a cruise through Prince William Sound and College Fjord on into Glacier Bay National Park where they saw the amazing calving of the Ice Age giant Margerie Glacier. After touring Haines, they rode up the mountain into Canada viewing eagles, swans, wild flowers. While in Juneau, they enjoyed watching whales, viewing the Mendenhall Glacier, and ate a salmon bake. After a rainy morning in the rain forest seeing eagles and deer, but no bears, they toured Ketchikan including Creek Street and ate king crab legs and halibut. They continued cruising the inside passage to Vancouver where they viewed the city as they rode the hop on, hop off bus in the rain.
