Coat and Blanket Drive
Resurgens Orthopaedics and Orthopaedic South Surgical Center’s seventh annual Coat and Blanket Drive runs now through December 16. It will benefit neglected and abused women and children in need this holiday season. Items collected will be donated to Haven House of Henry County, a battered women’s shelter. The overflow of extra items will be donated to nearby homeless shelters that partner with Haven House. To participate in the coat drive, simply drop off new or gently used coats or blankets (also accepted are hats, gloves and other cold weather gear) at Resurgens Orthopaedics, 105 Regency Park Drive in McDonough.

Holiday Food Drive taking Donations
Southern States Cooperative‘s 5th annual Holiday Food Drive is going on now through December 14. Partnering with local food banks and charitable organizations in a number of cities and communities in the southeast, the regional agriculture retailer will continue its tradition of helping to feed disadvantaged families and individuals during the upcoming holiday season. Anyone interested in making a contribution to the 2015 Holiday Food Drive can contact their participating Southern States retail location for more information.

Henry Singers Rehearsals
The Henry Singers invite those with a passion for singing to come and join them each Thursday night from 7:30 until 9 p.m. Rehearsals are held in the choir room of McDonough Presbyterian Church, located at 427 McGarity Road in McDonough. For more information, email info@henrysingers.com.

The Hampton Group meets at Hampton United Methodist Church, 10 West Main Street in Hampton Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and Fridays at 8 p.m.
The Henry County Group meets at the Piedmont Henry Hospital Education Bldg., 1133 Eagle’s Landing Pkwy. in Stockbridge on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 7 p.m.
Just For Today Group meets at St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church, 1865 Hwy. 20 in McDonough on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m.
The Locust Grove Group meets at Locust Grove United Methodist, 211 Peeksville Road on Fridays at 8 p.m.
The McDonough Group meets at McDonough United Methodist Church, 151 Macon Street Monday through Saturday at noon each day.
The Stockbridge Group meets at Stockbridge Presbyterian Church, 4740 N. Henry Blvd. on Mondays and Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Wednesdays at 7:30 a.m. Al Anon meets at the Piedmont Henry Hospital Education Bldg., 1133 Eagle’s Landing Pkwy. in Stockbridge on Wednesday.

Compassionate Friends
The Compassionate Friends is for parents and other family members who have lost a child in death. It meets the second Tuesday of each month at Salem Baptist Church (although it is not a Church program) on Hwy. 155. Please call Freddie Saye at 678-925-4027.

ReStore Seeking Volunteers
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore McDonough is seeking volunteers to give 4 hours a week to help make a difference in the community. The ReStore sells donated, new and gently used furniture, household décor, appliances, and building supplies to the general public, in order to raise funds to support Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity as they provide affordable housing for families in the community who need it. Volunteers in the ReStore assist shoppers, accept donations, unload donation trucks, and prepare and set up merchandise. The ReStore is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and is located at 1465 Hwy. 20 West in McDonough.
