Cherilyn McFadden of McDonough wants to help people whose young children were gone too soon.

The second annual Angel Walk, scheduled for Nov. 21st from 1-4 p.m., in Orchard Hills City Park at 2972 Old 41 Highway near Griffin. The purpose of the free event is to remember unborn babies and infants who have passed away.

McFadden organized the one-mile walk for her son, Gregory Jordan McFadden, who was stillborn at hospital on Nov. 19, 2013.

“We got there that morning ready for the surgery, and he didn’t have a heartbeat,” says McFadden.

McFadden hopes the Angel Walk will continue to help families who are coping with a similar loss.

“We did it last year for the first time,” she says. “It was a big success. We were shocked that we had the turnout we had.”

The event will also feature a balloon release, as well as a meal following the Angel Walk. For more information, call 678-572-9262.
