Child victim community training session to be held in Stockbridge

Georgia Cares, formerly Georgia Care Connection Office, will hold a community training session on Saturday, November 7 from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Community Bible Church, 2001 Jodeco Road, in Stockbridge.

Georgia Cares is the single, statewide coordinating agency, connecting services and treatment care for child victims of sexual exploitation and trafficking. Georgia Cares serves any and all youth who have been victimized in the state of Georgia. They host informative and engaging training across the state to educate individuals about the epidemic of child sex trafficking and what it looks like in Georgia. The goals of the training include:

•An increased understanding of DMST/CSEC.

•Discussion about the trauma, abuse, and victimization of child sex trafficking.

•Familiarization with the work of Georgia Cares as it relates to intervention and services to victims in Georgia.

•Preparation for community members to feel empowered to act and move towards combating child sex trafficking.
