Town Hall Meeting October 22
A town hall meeting focusing on rail transit opportunities will be hosted by district 5 Commissioner Bruce Holmes. It will be held Thursday, October 22 at 7 p.m. at Global Impact Christian Ministries, 125 Red Oak Road in Stockbridge. The guest speaker will be Keith Parker, Marta General Manager and CEO, who will discuss economic development and industry in relation to mass transit and public transportation.

HCPD accepting applications
The Henry County Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of Non-Certified Police Recruit. Applications will be accepted through Friday, October 16. Applications received after this date will not be considered. Applicants can apply at http://www.co.henry.ga.us/.

Lunch and Learn October 13
On Tuesday, October 13 the Henry County Extension will have a Lunch and learn called “Common Insect Pests and Their Control.” The Georgia Department of Agriculture has approved this class for two hours of credit for commercial operators in category 24 and one hour credit for private holders. Speakers for this class are Dr. Dan Suiter and Lisa Ames. This class is open to the public. The program begins at noon and will be held at 97 Lake Dow Road, McDonough, Conference Room A. Library Book Sale October 17
Friends of the Henry County Library System will host its fall book sale on Saturday, October 17 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. It will be held at the McDonough Library in the administrative basement. The library is located at 1001 Florence McGarity Blvd. They have a huge selection of Christian fiction, Inspirational non-fiction, Sci-Fi and Fantasy fiction along with children’s books, CDs, DVDs and Audiobooks.
