Comedy improv show September 22
Special to The Times
The Academy of Comedy Improv will present a night of comedy based on family friendly suggestions Tuesday, September 22 at 7 p.m. at the Stockbridge Community Arts Center.
Every scene begins with audience suggestions with Paige Steadman, Robert Drake, and special guests turning them into sketches and songs.
“We have not played in Stockbridge in a while and wanted to give people a chance to laugh now that the school year is going,” says Robert Drake, Artistic Director for Academy Theatre.
Atlanta has been a hotbed of improvisation and the Academy of Comedy Improv is the only troupe regularly performing south of I-285. It is the premiere professional improv comedy of the southern crescent.
The Academy Theatre recently announced their 2015-2016 season, including six mainstage shows and one touring production. Details are available at http://www.academytheatre.org
The City of Stockbridge and Stockbridge Downtown Development Authority are sponsors of the Academy’s Stockbridge work.
Tickets for the performance are $10 and may be purchased online at http://academyofcomedy.brownpapertickets.com or $15 at the door. The Stockbridge Community Arts Center is located at 146 Burke Street.
