Henry Farmers Market
The Henry County Farmers Market is held each Thursday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Jason T. Harper Event Center at 97 Lake Dow Road in Mc-Donough. Items vailable for purchase include fresh produce, vegetables, baked goods, pet treats, soaps, honey and woodworking products. The Compassionate Friends is for parents and other family members who have lost a child in death. It meets the second Tuesday of each month at Salem Baptist Church (although it is not a Church program) on Hwy. 155. Please call Freddie Saye at 678-925-4027.
ReStore seeking volunteers
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore McDonough is seeking volunteers to give 4 hours a week to help make a difference in the community. The ReStore sells donated, new and gently used furniture, household décor, appliances, and building supplies to the general public, in order to raise funds to support Southern Crescent Habitat for Humanity as they provide affordable housing for families in the community who need it. Volunteers in the ReStore assist shoppers, accept donations, unload donation trucks, and prepare and set up merchandise. The ReStore is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and is located at 1465 Hwy. 20 West in McDonough. Free GED classes
Connecting Henry is now offering free GED classes to Henry County youth ages 16 - 24. Classes are held Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. until noon.
