County purchases two new fire engines

Special to The Times

In a move to revitalize an aging fleet of fire engines, the Henry County Fire Department recently purchased two 2015 Ferrara Cinder class pumpers. The recent purchase was made possible through the county’s general fund. These two new pumpers will replace aging apparatus at HCFD Station 1 located on Industrial Boulevard and Station 7 located on Hwy. 155 and North Salem.

The two pumpers feature 450HP Cummins engines, Allison transmissions, and single stage Hale pumps with a rated capacity of 2000 gallons per minute. Additionally each pumper features a low hose bed for easy reloading of 5 inch large diameter hose and LED lighting. Fire crews have already begun training with the new additions.
