Bethel UMC invites the community to an Ice Cream Social on Saturday, August 1 from 5 - 7 p.m. Then on Sunday, August 2 at 11 a.m. come out to their Homecoming Celebration. This will be Bethel’s 155th year of ministry in the Fairview/ Stockbridge community. The guest preacher is District Superintendent, Rev. Richard Winn. Tabernacle Family Worship Center will host a community outreach event Saturday, August 1 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. followed by a Worship Celebration at 7 p.m. They will have a free lunch, children and youth activities including a bounce house, face painting and balloon art. Tabernacle of Praise Locust Grove will hold their 4th annual Youth Explosion on Saturday, August 8 at 6 p.m. The event will be held at the Henry County Performing Arts Center at 37 Lemon Street in McDonough. Early I Seek Thee: Communion with God through Prayer is an eight week study held through Wednesday, August 12 at 6 a.m. in Thomas Hall. The church is also providing free meals for area children Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Thomas Hall. They are requesting basic school supply donations for their Back to School Jamboree on Saturday, August 1 from noon until 3 p.m. Girls will receive pedicures and boys will get complimentary grooming.
