The Henry County Board of Commissioners approved an intergovernmental agreement with the Henry County Development Authority, which will sublease the land to the Kensley Grace Aquatic Foundation, Inc. to build an aquatic center in Henry County. The County will lease the property for 50 years to the Development Authority, which will in turn sublease to the Foundation for a 30-year term and at the end of the lease, ownership of the facility will go to the county, however, except for the lease of the land, no taxpayer money will be spend on the aquatic center. The property consists of a 20.3-acre parcel of land located on Henry Parkway in McDonough, across from the Mercer University Henry County Campus. Construction is expected to begin in approximately three years.
