Tribute to Elvis Show June 6

State Retirees Association Meeting May 28
A meeting of the East Metro Chapter of the Georgia State Retirees Association will be held on Thursday, May 28 at 2 p.m. in Covington. The East Metro Chapter covers five counties including Henry. The GSRA President will address the membership. The meeting location is 1176 Elm Street, Covington, Georgia 30014, at the corner of Williams and Elm Streets.

AA Groups in Henry
The Hampton Group meets at Hampton United Methodist Church, 10 West Main Street in Hampton Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and Fridays at 8 p.m.

The Henry County Group meets at the Piedmont Henry Hospital Education Bldg., 1133 Eagle’s Landing Pkwy. in Stockbridge on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 7 p.m.

Just For Today Group meets at St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church, 1865 Hwy. 20 in McDonough on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7 p.m.

The Locust Grove Group meets at Locust Grove United Methodist, 211 Peeksville Rd. in Locust Grove meet Fridays at 8 p.m.

The McDonough Group meets at McDonough United Methodist Church, 151 Macon Street in McDonough Monday through Saturday at noon each day.

The Stockbridge Group meets at Stockbridge Presbyterian Church, 4740 N. Henry Blvd. in Stockbridge on Mondays and Thursdays at 7 and 7:30 p.m.

Carribean Festival June 20
The 5th annual Atlanta Caribbean Cultural Festival will be held Saturday, June 20 from 1 until 8 p.m. The event will be at Alexander Park, located on Atlanta Street in McDonough. Water Safety Event
Children between the ages of 4 and 14 are invited to participate in the 3rd annual LSS SWIM 1922 program hosted by the Sigma Public Education and Research (SPEAR) Foundation in conjunction with the Lambda Sigma Alumnae chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc. The SWIM 1922 program is a partnership between USA Swimming and Sigma Gamma Rho, Sorority Inc. and aims to increase swim participation and decrease drowning rates in the community by teaching young children basic water safety. This event will be held at the Steve Lundquist Aquatic Center in Jonesboro on June 13 at 10 a.m. For more information or to register a child, please contact a sorority member by emailing tanyab1231@gmail.com or lambdasigmasigmasgrho@gmail.com.
