There’s no masking the bargains returning to Piedmont Henry Hospital in the coming weeks.

The hospital Auxilliary will sponsor a Masquerade Jewelry Sale May 4 from 10 am. to 5 p.m., and May 5 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the South Tower Lobby.

Items will be available for $5 each, says Gail Hicklin, ways and means chairperson for the Auxiliary. She says Masquerade, the supplier for the sale, will offer an “excellent selection” of jewelry, watches, scarves and other items.

“We planned the sale at this time because it’s right before Mother’s Day,” says Hicklin. “They cover the entire South Tower Lobby.”

The Auxiliary hopes to raise $8,000 for equipment and other needs at the hospital through this year’s sale. The group, says Hicklin, raised nearly $6,000 with the 2014 sale.

Hicklin says one lady was so determined to buy a pair of butterfly wings during last year’s sale, that even hospital employees couldn’t stop her.

“The lady was coming in for treatment and they rolled her through on a gurney,” explains Hicklin. “She made them stop so that she could see the stuff. She picked out an item that she wanted and told us to hold onto it until she finished her treatment. They rolled her back through on the gurney when she finished her treatment, and she purchased it. It was hilarious to watch.”

Purchases can be made by cash, credit or debit card, or via payroll deduction for hospital employees. For more information, call 678-289-9923.
