Taste of Henry this Friday
The 14th annual Taste of Henry, sponsored by Piedmont Henry Hospital, will be held Friday, April 17 from 6-9 p.m. at the Jason T. Harper Event Center, 95 Lake Dow Road in McDonough. Proceeds from the event go to A Friend’s House, a shelter for abused, neglected and abandoned children.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors 65 and up, and $5 for children ages 3-12. Kids under 3 will be admitted free of charge.

Child Care Class
A Super Saturday Child Care class will be held April 18 at Henry County Extension, 97 Lake Dow Road in McDonough. Participants can earn 5 hours of training provided by a Bright from the Start approved entity. For registration please contact Melissa Souther at 770-288-8421.
Spring Art Fest April 18
McDonough Arts Council will hold their 2015 Spring Art Fest on Saturday, April 18 from noon until 5 p.m. on the McDonough Square. It will feature live music, food and homebaked desserts. For Liberty Now meeting
The For Liberty Now group, a bi-partisan group of conservatives have their next meeting on April 27 at 7 p.m. They meet at the SPLOST Community Room at 116 Zack Hinton Parkway in McDonough. Their guest speaker is Derrick Grayson, who is running against Johnny Isakson on the Republican ticket.
3D Design and Printing Classes for kids

ESL Class at Fairview Library
English as a Second Language classes are being held at the Fairview Public Library, 28 Austin Road in Stockbridge on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. The classes are free of charge and are for beginners to intermediate. Hampton Group meets at Hampton United Methodist Church, 10 West Main Street in Hampton. They meet Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and Fridays at 8 p.m.
Henry County Group meets at the Piedmont Henry Hospital Education Bldg., 1133 Eagle’s Landing Pkwy. in Stockbridge They meet Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 7 p.m.
Just For Today Group meets at St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church, 1865 Hwy. 20 in McDonough. They meet Sundays at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at 7 p.m. and Thursdays at 7 p.m.
Locust Grove Group meets at Locust Grove United Methodist, 211 Peeksville Rd. in Locust Grove. They meet Fridays at 8 p.m.
McDonough Group meets at McDonough United Methodist Church, 151 Macon Street in McDonough. They meet Monday through Saturday at noon each day.
Stockbridge Group meets at Stockbridge Presbyterian Church, 4740 N. Henry Blvd. in Stockbridge. They meet Mondays and Thursdays at 7 p.m.
Luella High School Baseball program selling Braves Tickets
As Luella High gets ready to play Union Grove April 17 at Turner Field, the school's baseball program is also selling tickets to selected Atlanta Braves games this season.
You can support the Luella baseball program by purchasing tickets to any or all of the following games: May 19, Tampa Bay Rays, $6; June 18, Boston Red Sox, $14; Aug. 29, New York Yankees, $16.
Tickets for these games can be purchased online at www.luellabaseball.com. They are also on sale in the concession stand at all home games and during lunch at the school on selected days.
Relay for Life April 24
The Henry County Relay for Life will be held at Hampton High School on April 24. The purpose of the event is to celebrate the Survivors with the Survivor Dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Hampton High School Cafeteria. The Dinner is for a Survivor and one caregiver. All others who attend the Relay that night can bring food for their team. There will also be vendors that sell food during the night who donate a portion of their proceeds to the Relay.
