New Bread of Life Christian Center will host a Boys to Men Fellowship Saturday, June 28 at 9 a.m. The community is invited to a day of mentoring and fun. Transportation and food will be provided. Comunity Bible Church will present The Peach State Quartet in concert on Sunday, July 13 at 6:30 p.m. This all male Southern Gospel group has been singing great Southern Gospel songs since 1972. Bethel UMC in Stockbridge will have their Vacation Bible School “Sky: Everything is Possible with God” on July 7 through 10 from 5:30 - 8 p.m. They will have stories, games, crafts, a snack supper and more. Mount Zion United Methodist Church will host a Fifth Sunday Sing-A-Long at 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 29 in the sanctuary. Guests from other churches in the community will participate, and congregational singing will be led by Choir Director Mike Wallace, with Alice Wallace as pianist. Henry Baptist Church now offers a Christian Karate Academy every Thursday from 5:30 until 8:30 p.m. depending on age group. The classes center around Christian fellowship, exercise, practice in self-discipline, self-defense lessons, and most importantly, an opportunity to enhance a student’s spiritual well-being through the study of scripture. Bible study, memorization of scripture, and prayer are all a part of the classes, and students are expected to participate in these as well as the Karate lessons.
