Terry L. Camp

  Mr. Terry L. Camp, age 66 of McDonough, Georgia passed away February 5, 2014. He was born in Albertville, Alabama to the late Olan Avery and Mary Ruby Fuller Camp. Terry served his country in the United States Army, including two tours in Vietnam. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the American Legion. Terry enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He loved music and was an avid Atlanta Falcons fan. He was preceded in death by an infant sister and a brother, Wendell Royal.

  Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Becke Camp; children, Michael (Janie) Camp of Perry, Mande (Joey) Pendley of Sharpsburg; grandchildren, Savannah Camp, Rubyann Camp, Harley Pendley and Coleman Pendley; brothers, Wayne (Tommie) Camp of Bonaire, Jimmie (Kathy) Camp of Faulkner, AL, Donald (Willogene) Camp of Bonaire and Tony Royal of Edison; several nieces and nephews.

  Memorial services were held February 8 from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Contributions are asked to be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Terry. Haisten Funeral Home, McDonough, 770-914-8833, www.haistenfunerals.com.

 

Calvin Flowers

  Calvin “Cowboy” Flowers, age 78, of Stockbridge, GA died February 6, 2014. He was born in Bessemer, NC to the late Gilbert H. and Mae Scruggs Flowers. He was from North Carolina and always considered that Heaven. Calvin was associated with Flippen United Methodist Church. He was an avid antique car collector and a member of the Early Ford Club. He worked in construction over 40 years, and he was the owner of Flowers Acoustics.

  Calvin is survived by his wife of 47 years: Shirley Flowers, Stockbridge, children: Nancy (Steve) Wallace, McDonough; Debbie (Clint) Adams, Stockbridge; Kathy (Steve) Tomberlin, Kings Mountain, NC; Richard Calvin Flowers, Gaston, NC; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; siblings: Ambrose Flowers, Grier (Betty) Flowers, Bill (Virginia) Flowers, Harry (Peggy) Flowers, and Lillie Justice.

  Services were held February 8 at Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors. Interment Fairview Memorial Gardens. Phobie Frost Clark

  Phoebie Frost Clark, age 84, of McDonough, GA died February 6, 2014. She was born in Montgomery, AL to the late Samuel Kirkland and Ruby Catherine Wilson Frost. She enjoyed the outdoors, her flowers, her horses and dogs. Most of all, she loved her family and was loved by her family and neighbor. Phoebie was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Lewis.

  Phoebie is survived by her daughter, Catherine (Andy) McRee, McDonough; siblings: Jack Frost, Mountain Home, ID; S.K. Frost, OK; granddaughters: Torie McRee and Anslie McRee, McDonough.

Rosemary Stanfield

  Rosemary Stanfield, age 78, of McDonough, GA died Friday, February 7, 2014. She was born in Carlos, Allegany County, MD, to the late William Thomas and Vivian Layman Winebrenner. She attended Beall High School and upon graduation, relocated to Washington, DC where she enjoyed an enriching career and retired in 1990 as Chief Deputy Clerk of the Tax Division for the Superior Court of Washington, DC. Rosemary was proud to have descended from Western Maryland’s first settlers, some of whom immigrated from Germany. Genealogy became her passion and she was an ardent reader who loved traveling throughout the United States, Europe and the Caribbean. After her husband’s death, Rosemary retired to McDonough. Rosemary was very interested in politics. She enjoyed volunteering at Piedmont Henry Hospital, attending church and bible study at Jodeco Road First United Methodist Church in Stock-bridge, and most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren. Rosemary was a very kind and gentle soul with a loving and generous heart; always giving to others. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Barrington Stanfield, Sr. and her brother, Ronald O. Winebrenner.

  Rosemary is survived by her children: Vicki Stanfield Ham-mond (Stephen), Seattle, WA; Barry Stanfield (Vivian Wang), Aldie, VA; Adam Stanfield (Stephanie), Tampa, FL; grandchildren, Sean Stanfield, Kelsi Stanfield, Zack Stanfield, Matthew Hammond, Allison Stanfield, Tyler Penn; great-grandchild: Brady Penn; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

  Services were held February 13 at Jodeco First United Methodist Church, Stockbridge with Rev. Darris Baker officiating. Interment Fairfax, VA on February 17. Lessie Smith Williams

  Mrs. Lessie Smith Williams, age 88, of Jackson, GA died February 9, 2014. Mrs. Williams was born in Atlanta the daughter of the late Lessie Mae Mulkey Smith and Thomas Albert Smith. Mrs. Williams was a member of Second Baptist Church in Jackson where she served as clerk of the church for many years and enjoyed singing in the choir. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling and cooking. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings and her husband, Vernard W. (Tiny) Williams, SR.

  Survivors are her children, Deb Gilmore (Doug) of Jackson and Warren (Carol) Williams of McDonough; grandchildren, Leigh Burgess of Kennesaw, Nick Williams (Collyn) of McDonough, Carly (Josh) Brand of Tierra Verde, FL, and Andrew Hingson of St. Petersburg, FL. great grandchild, Adelyn Brand of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews.

Leo East

  Leo East, age 71, of Stockbridge, GA died February 10, 2014. He was born in Atlanta to the late John D. and Dora Buford East. He was a U.S. Army veteran, member of Henry Baptist Church, and he enjoyed music especially southern gospel. Leo loved to fish, work outside, but mostly he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Leo was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Eugene East.

  Leo is survived by his wife: Linda East, Stockbridge; children: Cindy (Charles) Justice, Hampton; Jesse (Terry) East, Milner; Jerry Wilkerson, Greenville, AL; grandchildren: Jessica Gregory, Chris East, Kelsie East, Zachary East, Amanda East, Ashley Hodges, Ansley Smith, Cameron Smith; 6 great grand-children: and sister-in-law: Becky Berry, Temple.

  Services for Leo were held at Henry Baptist Church on February 15 with Rev. Archie Norman officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Henry Baptist Church, Mission Fund or Missionary Keith Keller, 4035 E. Jodeco Road, McDonough, GA 30253. Robert E. Bing

  Robert E. (Bobby) Bing, died February 12, 2014.  He was born in Atlanta to the late William Albert and Ruby Lorene Lewis Bing where he remained until he met the love of his life, Becky Burford. They married September 10, 1971, made Henry County their home and raised three beautiful daughters. Mr. Bing was a true man of God and a proud member of Stockbridge Assembly of God for over 40 years.  Bobby loved softball, golf, the outdoors and football; he was an avid fan of Alabama.  It would be better said that he loved life, especially his family.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Bing was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Floy Burford and brother-in-law, Wendell Burford. 

  He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Becky Burford Bing; daughters, Angie (James) Hall, Brandi Bing and Sharon (Josh) Franks; brothers, Wayne (Audrey) Bing, Larry (Wendy) Bing; sister, Becky Garner; 5 grandchildren, Zack Hall, Noah Hall, Gabe Hall, Bailey Grace Herring, Mason Bennett; brother-in-law, Melvin Burford; sister-in-law, Sharon Burford (Alyce Wellons); a host of other family and many, many friends.  Services were held February 15 at Stockbridge Assembly of God in Stockbridge, GA.  In lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the family. Southern Crescent Crematory in care of arrangements.
