Agnes Higdon Dudley

  Agnes Higdon Dudley, age 70, of McDonough, GA died January 28, 2014. She was born in Copperhill, TN to the late Ed and Margaret Williamson Higdon. Agnes was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

 Agnes is survived by her significant other: Michael Myrick, McDonough; husband, James E. Dudley, III, McDonough; daughter, Stephanie Dudley, AL; sisters, Jessie Brannan, Fairmount; Frances Elliston, McDonough; Mima Floyd, McCaysville; and grandchild, London H. Dudley, McDonough.

Nash Beever

  Nash Beever, age 17, of McDonough, GA died January 28, 2014. He was born in Riverdale to Douglas Vernon and Teri Lee Tyndall Beever. He attended Locust Grove High School, where he was a true Wildcat.

  Nash is survived by his parents, Doug and Teri Beever, McDonough; brothers, Evan Thomas Beever, McDonough, and Jason (Jamie) Beever, Clayton; grandparents, Win and Anita Profio, McDonough; his four legged friend, Aja.

Johnny Wayne Thackston

  Mr. Johnny Wayne Thackston, age 57, of McDonough, GA passed away January 28, 2014. Johnny was born in Dekalb County. He was a member of Oakland Baptist Church.  He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and car shows. He was preceded in death by his father, J. W. Thackston and a sister, Marie Sheppard.

  Survivors are his mother, Mattie Lou Thackston of McDonough; brother, David Thackston (Beth) of Stockbridge; niece, Megan Thackston of Navarre, FL; nephews, Chad Sheppard (Jamie) of McDonough and Daniel Thackston (Meagan) of Stockbridge; and great nephew, Tye Thackston of Stockbridge.

Darrell Edward White

  Mr. Darrell Edward White, age 55, of Hampton, GA passed away January 29, 2014. Darrell was born in Corpus Christi, TX the son of the late Carlos Raymond White and Margie Lee Wester White. Darrell enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fishing, electronics, gardening and was known for being a good handyman. Darrell was a member of Southside Christian Fellowship Church. He was a Henry County Sherriff’s Deputy with 24 plus years of service. He was among the first who help to organize the Henry County Police Department and the Honor Guard for Henry County Sherriff’s Department. Darrell was a former Spalding County Fireman, Dundee Volunteer Fireman, Forest Park Fireman, and a supervisor with Grady EMS. Darrell was an ordained minister who enjoyed serving and volunteering in his community. He was an evangelist with the Motor Cross for Jesus. He was a Master Mason with the Meridian Sun #26 in Griffin where he served as Senior Warden. He was a licensed FCC Ham Radio operator (KE4RQP). He was preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Holmes. 

  Survivors are his wife of 33 years, Theresa White of Hampton; son, Allen White of Hampton; brothers, David White (Sherry) of Griffin and Douglas White (Gail) of Griffin; several nieces and nephews and his dog “Baby Doll”.

Mary Nell Hollingsworth

  Mary Nell Hollingsworth, age 78, of McDonough, GA died January 29, 2014. She was born in Calhoun to the late Thomas Jefferson and Pearl Hood Reeves. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hollingsworth; brother, Marvin Reeves, and sister, Barbara Smith.

  Mrs. Hollingsworth is survived by her children: Teresa L. (Boyd) Riggs, Dothan, AL; Brenda L. (Mike) Bell, McDonough; grandchildren: Amanda Williams, Heather Durham, Steven Harrison, David Harrison; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Donald C. Forbes

  Donald C. Forbes, age 78, of McDonough, GA died January 31, 2014. He was born in Morgantown, WV to the late Annas A and Esta Luella Show Forbes. He was a retired US Army Chief Warrant Officer with 21 years of service and retired Director with Georgia Courts Automation Commission after 27 years with the State of Georgia. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Stockbridge, holding many different service positions including Chairman of the Church Council, Treasurer, Lay Leader and delegate to the North Georgia Annual Conference.

  Donald is survived by his wife of 36 years, Frances Camp Forbes; children, Shawn Forbes, Clifford Forbes, Sandy Camp, Karen Camp Johnston and Alan Camp; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Lois Dearing Reyes

  Mrs. Lois Dearing Reyes, age 80, of McDonough, GA died January 31, 2014. Mrs. Reyes was born in Arab, Alabama the daughter of the late John Thomas Dearing and Elvira Ammie Worthy Dearing. Mrs. Reyes enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clemente Toby Reyes, Jr and several siblings.

  Survivors are her children, Jean Breedlove (John) of Locust Grove, Rene Reyes of McDonough, Yolanda Claxton (Charlie) of Jackson, Anna Solis (Andres) of Moreland, James Reyes (Yolanda) of Toledo, OH, and Randy Reyes of Locust Grove; 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren; brothers, James Dearing (Virginia) of Powder Springs, Curtis Dearing (Della Mae) of Hiawassee; several nieces and nephews.

Jeremy Kyle Head

  Jeremy Kyle Head, age 42, of Hampton, GA passed away February 1, 2014. Jeremy was born in East Point, GA. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a disabled US Navy Veteran. Jeremy was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. He was known for his civil war relic hunting. 

  Survivors are his wife, Cindy Head of Hampton; children, Kyle and Courtney Head of Hampton; parents, Sara Ellen and Wayne Head of Hampton; sister, Alison Ruth Head; brother, Andrew Brent Head; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Betty Phillips

  Betty  Phillips, age 82, of Stockbridge, GA died February 2, 2014. She was born in Stockbridge to the late William Arthur and Dolie Brooks Blankenship.   She was a member of Stockbridge First Baptist Church. Betty is preceded in death by her husband Clifford “Corky” Phillips.

  Betty is survived by her sons, Clark Phillips, Decatur and Keith (Edie) Phillips, Ellijay; brothers, Gene (Barbara Jo) Blankenship, Conyers, Russell (Patsy) Blankenship, Jackson and Brooks (Pat) Blankenship, McDonough; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
