Arts Alliance to display winning high school artwork

 

  Henry County Library System will host the winners of the 16th Annual High School Arts contest sponsored by the Henry Arts Alliance beginning Tuesday, February 18 through Thursday, February 27. Each award-winning artwork will be displayed in a special gallery showing known as the “The Winner’s Circle” at the McDonough library with a reception on Thursday, February 27 at 6 p.m. This event is open to the public.

  The awards reception will include monetary presentations for Best of Show, 1st Place and Awards of Excellence. Teacher of the “Best of Show” entry will receive a monetary award and all other teachers will be entered into a random drawing for a monetary award as well. 

  The Henry Arts Alliance annual high school art contest is open to all 10th - 12th graders in Henry County. Public, private, and home school students are all eligible to participate. All artwork must be the original work of the student and not copied from any other source. It also must have been completed within that school year.

  Art classes will be held at the McDonough library on Thurs-day, February 20, March 6 and 20 from 5:30 to 8p.m. Cost is $25 for supplies and classes limited, contact Moira Fisher at 678-522-1188 to reserve a spot.

  On Sunday, March 9, the Visual Arts Collective of Henry County “Winter Wonderland” will kick-off with a reception at the McDonough library from 2 until 4 p.m. The exhibit will run through March 27.
