Girl Scout Juniors and Cadettes from Hampton Girl Scout Troop 474 earned high leadership awards for a Badge Day they hosted for younger scouts at Hampton First Baptist Church on January 11. The Junior Scouts, Abigail Brock, Emmalee Strawn, Jacqueline Arnold, Kenzie Branch, Ella Nelson, and Emily Barnett earned their Junior Aide Award by teaching 23 Brownie’s Badge Activities for their Home Scientist and Pets Badge. The Brownies had fun making animal toys to donate to the Henry County Humane Society, making homemade ice cream and many other activities that the Juniors planned. The Cadette Girl Scouts, Carmen Bodie, Isabella Mendizabal and Sophia Mendizabal earned one of their Leadership in Action Badges by teaching their younger Girl Scout Sisters about eating healthy snacks, doing fun dances and giving them ideas for doing fun healthy family activities. “We are proud of the girls hard work and their skills of leadership shown at the event. They showed the Girl Scout motto of girls showing Courage, Confidence and Character leading each other!” says co-leader, Stephanie Bodie.
