Herbert Ladds Lugsdin
Mr. Herbert Ladds Lugsdin, age 77, passed away December 19, 2013. Mr. Lugsdin was born in Toronto, Canada the son of the late Eric Ladds and Thelma Newton Smithson Lugsdin. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, attending and participating in the activities and sports of his grandchildren, hunting and was an avid Braves fan. He was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Black. Mr. Lugsdin served his country in the US Navy from 1957-1961.
Survivors are his loving wife of 57 years, Carol Lugsdin of McDonough; children, Charles Lugsdin of Ocala, FL, Herb Lugsdin (Lisa) of Decatur, Cathy Lugsdin and Erica Lugsdin of McDonough; grandchildren, Kimberly Lapoint, Eric Lugsdin, Ruic Lugsdin, Ashley Lane, Hannah Lugsdin, Robbie McManama; and great grandchildren, Sean Farkas, Leah Lapoint, and Lyndon Lane.

Donald Roscoe Snyder
Mr. Donald Roscoe Snyder, age 90, of Covington, GA passed away December 26, 2013. Mr. Snyder was born in Doe Hill, VA the son of the late Newton Elmer and Lena Emma Puffenberger Snyder. Mr. Snyder retired from the US Air Force with 31 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, traveling and playing bingo. He was a parishioner of St. Phillips Benzi of Jonesboro and a member of the VFW in Clayton County. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Birdie Kathleen McBride Snyder; and a brother, Fred Puffenberger.
Survivors are his children; Charles Snyder (Kari) of Gig Harbor, WA and Donna Putt (Dennis) of Covington; grandchildren, Rhonda Parsons of Covington, Michael Putt (Andrea) of Covington, Jordan Moll (Adam) of Tacoma, WA. and Megan Winter of Gig Harbor, WA; great grandchildren, Morgan, Austin, Cade, Wyatt, Lucas, Gavin & Kendal; brother, Earl Snyder of Stanton, VA; sister, Helen Sandridge of Brownsburg, VA; several nieces and nephews.

John Gordon Pratt, Jr.
John Gordon Pratt, Jr., age 42, of McDonough, GA, died December 27, 2013. He was born in Montour Falls, NY to the late John “Jack” and Nancy Lee Pratt. John graduated from Watkins Glen High School in Watkins Glen, NY. He was in the Air Force during the Gulf War. John was employed by British Telecom for 15 years. He loved making his wife and kids happy, working in his shop, camping, his dogs and family gatherings.
John is survived by his wife of 5 years, Jennifer Pratt; mother: Nancy Pratt; children: Jonathan, Zachary, Brittney, Tayler, Sierra; grandsons: Dallas Avery, Seth; sister: Darlene Smith; several sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Vernon Grover Paulk
Dr. Vernon Grover Paulk, age 91, of McDonough, GA died December 28, 2013. He was born in Ocilla to the late Lott and Gladys Paulk. Vernon was a member of Salem Baptist Church for over 40 years. He was a retired chiropractor and World War II vet.
Vernon is survived by his grandsons, Michael Paulk, Chris Paulk; great-grandchildren: Josh, Trevor, Madi and Sara Paulk; step-great-grandchildren: Logan and Dylan Entrabargolo.

Eloise Wooten Whiddon
Eloise Wootten Whiddon, age 73, of McDonough, GA died January 1, 2014. She was born to the late Lillian Irene Hancock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Wayne Widdon and her son, Robert Michael Wootten.
Eloise is survived by her daughter: Rita Wootten McQurter, McDonough; granddaughters: Tiffany Lynn Fountain Summers, Phenix City, AL; Kristyna Michael McQurter, McDonough; great-granddaughter: Haylee Madison Summers, Phenix City, AL; her best friend Shirley Bigham; and her beloved cat Noah.

Steve Cline, “Smiley” age 60, of McDonough, GA passed away January 2, 2014. Steve was born in Decatur the son of the late William Oscar Cline and Dorothy Davis Combs Biddy. Steve enjoyed spending time with family and friends, spoiling his grandchildren, camping, NASCAR, and grilling. Steve retired from Big Star Foods with 20 years and was employed with Briggs and Stratton for 18 years.
Survivors are his wife of 19 years, Lynne Cline of McDonough; children, Katey Bacot of McDonough and Holly and Jeremy Brooks of Sharpsburg; grandchildren, Hailey Brooks and Madden Bacot; sisters, Pat and Randy Mote of Jonesboro and Jennie Moss of McDonough; several nieces and nephews.
