Brandy Leanna Gay

  Brandy Leanna Gay, age 24, passed away December 4, 2013. Brandy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, music, camping, and movies.

  She is survived by her sons which were her pride and joy; Jaden and Gabriel Savoy of McDonough; parents, Kandy Pendley and Mark Toney of McDonough and Brian Gay of Covington; siblings, Jeremiah Rose of Stockbridge and Brian Gay of McDonough.

  Joseph Manuel Rutledge

  Joseph “Nicky” Manuel Rutledge, age 70, of Stockbridge, Georgia passed away December 6, 2013. Mr. Rutledge was born in Henry County the son of the late Joseph Waymon and Betsy Mae Walden Rutledge. Mr. Rutledge was employed by Walker Concrete for 40 plus years until his retirement. He was a simple man who lived a simple life, but had a passion for drag racing and NASCAR. He was a husband, companion, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and great friend to many. Mr. Rutledge loved with all of his heart and will be truly missed, but will forever live on in memories and in our hearts.

  He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Rutledge; children, Shane Rutledge (Deborah), Karen Crawford (Ron), Kathy Fisher, Kim Edwards (Joey); brothers, Waymon Rutledge, James Rutledge and a sister Miriam Holton; grandchildren, AFC Vaida Rutledge, Amanda Champagne (James), Jessica Reynolds, Logan Roberts (Michele), Lauren O'Leary (Drew), Dakota Edwards, Colton Edwards, Canaan Edwards, Gage Fisher, Garrett Fisher; great grandchildren, Jackson Champagne, Emma Roberts, Paisley Roberts, Sadie O'Leary.

Teresa Solt

  Teresa Solt, of Stockbridge, daughter of Paul and Harolene Solt passed away December 7, 2013. Teresa was born in Aiken, South Carolina on October 23, 1958. Teresa graduated from North Clayton High School in 1976. She went on to graduate from Georgia State University and Clayton State School of Nursing. She worked for many years as a nurse at Southern Regional Hospital. Teresa was an avid collector and picture taker. She will be greatly missed. 

  She is survived by her mother Harolene Solt and her brother Tracy Solt.

  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. SouthCare Cremation and Funeral Society.

 

Rhonda Ann Eason

  Rhonda Ann Eason, age 49, of Manassas, VA, passed away December 10, 2013 at Prince William Medical Center in Manassas. She was born on February 17, 1964 in Forest Park to Ronald Lee Bishop and the late Betty Ann Rylee Bishop. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Rex Eason.

  Rhonda is survived by her sons, David Eason and Daniel Eason; father and stepmother, Ron and Sadie Bishop; sister, Donna Bishop; brother, Michael Bishop; stepchildren, Tara McMillan and Dixie Brown; stepsisters, Debra Johnson and Donna Hill; step-brother, Terry Brown; grandchild-on-the-way, Jaci Lynn Eason; stepgrandchildren, Hannah, Naomi, Rebecca, Issac, Adin, Karis, and Brandon.

  Graveside funeral services for Rhonda Eason were held December 17 at New Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Commerce with Rudy Mangham officiating.  Those who wish may sign the online guest registry at www.sherrell-westburyfh.com. Sarah Nipper Crudo

  Sarah Nipper Crudo, age 76, of McDonough, GA died December 11, 2013. She was born in Nicholls to the late Jesse and Oleph Kirkland Nipper.

  Ms. Crudo is survived by her children: Amy (Ron) Palcer, McDonough, and Philip (Mona) Crudo, Ewa Beach, HI; siblings: Nanette Ritchey, Jean (Dub) Taylor, Jesse (Phyllis) Nipper, Ray (Bonnie) Nipper, Gail (Tom) Drinnen, Joel (Marie) Nipper, Rebecca (Bobby) Bowman, Joanne (Wendell) Parrish; grandchildren: Sarah-May, Montana Lee, Annabelle, and Jesse Crudo, all of Ewa Beach, HI; plus many nieces and nephews.

  Funeral services were held December 15 at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Chaplain Don Daly officiating. Private interment Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sacred Journey Foundation, 138 Peach Drive, McDonough, Ga 30253.

 

Clyde Marcus Ward, Jr.

  Clyde Marcus Ward, Jr. age 53 of Ellenwood, Georgia passed away December 13, 2013. He was born in Macon, Georgia to Clyde Marcus Ward, Sr. and the late Joann Sutton Ward. He was an electrician and member of Local Union 613. Marc enjoyed drag racing, fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Verna Ward.

  Survivors include his wife, Paula Smallwood Ward; son, Robert Marcus Ward of York, SC; father, Clyde Marcus Ward, Sr. of Blue Ridge; uncle, Frazier Ward of Blue Ridge; stepchildren, Tiffany Watts of Hampton and Joshua Smallwood of Newnan; stepsisters, Pat Smith of Gainesville and Lynn Croteau of Daytona Beach, FL.

Karen Leigh McCarter Hearn

  Karen Leigh McCarter Hearn, age 57 of Locust Grove, Georgia died on December 13, 2013. Karen spent most of her working career in the medical field and prided herself on being there for others. She loved spending time with her family and friends, and enjoyed being outdoors. She never met a stranger, and had many friends from all walks of life all across the country. Some of her most cherished memories were those of spending time with her two sons camping in the mountains or spending time at the beach. She also found great joy in recently finding out she was to be a grandmother. For the past five years, Karen had walked in the Susan G. Komen 60-mile 3-Day walk in Atlanta, to honor her sister-in-law who died from breast cancer, her mother who survived it, and the countless other men and women she knew who had fought bravely against this terrible disease. She was intensely passionate for the Komen organization, and over the years raised many thousands of dollars to help find a cure for breast cancer and to assist families in her community through outreach programs. Preceding Karen in death were her father Charles McCarter and sister-in-law Susan McCarter.

  Karen leaves behind her mother Elsie McCarter; sons Luke and his wife Shannon, and Jake and his fiancée Jenny; brothers Scott, and Chuck and his wife Misty; and many other family members including nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She also had a close-knit group of friends with whom she shared many good memories.  

  A memorial service was held December 17 at 2 p.m. at Locust Grove United Methodist Church. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, her family requests you make a donation to Susan G.
