Grief Share Class

  Wesley Way UMC will present a 13 week spiritually based class for those who have lost a loved one. This class is free and open to the public. The class will be led by Dody Morris, running through Nov. 20, and will meet on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m at the church in room 216. Topics include: living with grief, the effects of grief, loss of a child, what is heaven like?, journey of grief, loss of a spouse and suicide. There is a sign up sheet in the narthex. Hampton Events

 Hampton Idol will hold open auditions on Saturday, November 23 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church at 85 McDonough Street. The winner will receive $250. Semi-finals and finals are November 28 at Hampton’s Thanksgiving night Tree Lighting ceremony which begins at 7 p.m. Complimentary cookies and cocoa are available from 6:30 until 8 p.m. It will be held at Hampton Depot Park. Shop Small on November 30 is  a National endeavor to encourage shopping in your city to support small businesses. Register for Hampton’s Christmas at Home Parade.  Check for  the registration form.  This event is sponsored by the Hampton Business and Merchants Association on December 5, beginning at 7 p.m. See live reindeer and have a photo taken with Santa. GWRRA 16th HeroDay

  Gold Wing Road Riders Association,  Chapter A,  McDonough will have their  16th “HeroDay” on Saturday,  December 7 at noon at Steers Steakhouse in McDonough. The motorcycle chapter has adopted soldiers via,  an organization that helps support our troops by customizing care packages to soldiers serving our country.  Please help support our soldiers this Holiday season  by bringing any items/donations to Steer’s, 14 Old Jackson Rd, McDonough.  Contact Joyce Piotrowski, Chapter A’s HeroBox Coordinator at 770-954-0938.  For more info and a list of requested items visit


Crossroads Career Network

  Crossroads Career Network meets at Stockbridge First UMC, 4863 N. Henry Blvd., Monday,  December 16 at 7 p.m. in room 330 (upper level entrance from the top parking lot).  Guest Speaker: Ms. Judi Adams, Founder and President of RightChanges (Job Coaching Services). Farmers Market Nov. 21

  The Henry County Farmers Market will have its 4th annual Fall Market on November 21 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Jason Harper Event Center Located in Heritage Park.  Come join them and stock up on fresh fall vegetables for Thanksgiving dinner as well as shop for locally made crafts for Christmas presents.
