Dolores Fern Rafter Swanson

  Mrs. Dolores Fern Rafter Swanson, age 83, of Stockbridge, GA passed away September 21, 2013. Mrs. Swanson was born in Minnesota, the daughter of the late Earl James and Mary Dolores Fern Rafter. She was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family, friends and her pets.

  She is survived by her husband Jack Swanson of Stockbridge; children, Janet Swanson of Minneapolis, Tom Swanson (Lynn) of Orlando, Ken Swanson (Debbie) of Jackson and Shari York (Allen) of Locust Grove; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Shaun Sealock

  Shaun Sealock, age 33, of Stockbridge, GA died September 26, 2013. He was born in Atlanta to Roy Herman and Barbara West Sealock.

  Graveside Services were held October 2 at Fairview Memorial Gardens with Alan Mayes officiating.

 

Bobby Gene Bell

  Mr. Bobby Gene “Pop” Bell, age 71 of Locust Grove, Georgia died October 1, 2013.  He was born in Hiram, Georgia to the late Herschel Frazier and Irene Agnes Turner Bell.  He was a loving husband and father.  Bobby was a humorous man and loved life.  He worked at Ford Motor Company for 27 years before retiring. 

  Bobby is survived by his most beloved treasure, his wife of 50 years, Emily Bell and their children, Mark (Linda) Bell and Tracey (Jeff) Brown; grandchildren, Drew Brown, Trey Brown, Krystal Brown, Emily Bell and Samantha Bell; sister, Betty Bell Smith along with several nieces and nephews.  Bobby was loved by many children that he loved like grandchildren. 

  Funeral services were held October 4 from the Philippi Baptist Church. Pastor Joey Seabolt officiated. In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to the Philippi Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Bobby.  Haisten Funeral Home, McDonough, www.haistenfunerals.com.

 

Rick Foster

  Mr. Rick Foster, age 59 of McDonough, Georgia passed away October 1, 2013. He was born in Griffin, Georgia to the late Sherman Gene and Martha Jean Casey Foster. Rick worked for Eastern Airlines, Caterpillar, International Paper and Owens Corning. He was also a real estate agent and a member of IBEW and NARPA. He enjoyed cars, sailing, collecting anything mechanical and enjoyed a good cigar. 

  Survivors include his wives, Susan Foster and Patricia Sanderson; sons, Brett Foster, Tony Mena, Alex (Dorothy McKenzie) Mena; daughter, Candice Cozort; grandchildren, Candace Driver, Porter Cox, Gentry Foster, Annaliese Cox and Cody Foster; aunt, Geraldine Foster.

C. W. Thompson

  Mr. C.W. Thompson, age 93 of McDonough, Georgia passed away October 5, 2013. He was born in Elberton, Georgia to the late John Gordon and Bessie Mae Clark Thompson. C.W. served his country in the United States Army during WWII in Italy. He was a member of the first Baptist Church of McDonough for 52 years and had worked many years at Carmichael Motor’s. He enjoyed gardening, bowling and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.  

  Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Frances Blanford Thompson; son, Darryl (Gail) Thompson of Stockbridge; grandchildren, John Goodman, Kenneth Carl Goodman, Angela Rutland and Sean McCool; six great grandchildren; brother, Guy (Christine) Thompson of Lawrenceville and Nellie Brown of Hartwell. 

  Funeral services were held October 7 from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Pastor Charles Thomas officiated.  Contributions are asked to be made to the First Baptist Church of McDonough Building Fund in memory of C.W. Carol “Susie” White

  Carol “Susie” White, age 55, of Stockbridge, GA died October 6, 2013. She was born on October 7, 1957 in Opa Locka, FL, to Carl Leon Stinnett and Judy Stinnett Jackson.

  Susie is survived by her husband: Douglas White, Stock-bridge; mother and step-father: Judy and Fred Jackson, North Lauderdale, FL; son: Kenneth (Jessica) White, McDonough; sister: Sandra (Daniel) Scarbary, Jackson, and numerous extended family members. 

  Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 12 at the chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Dave Riley officiating. Interment Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
