 McDonough First Assembly of God will have their “Fall Community Outreach” on Saturday, October 5 beginning at 9 a.m. There will be inflatables for the children, hot dogs and hamburgers for sale. Glen Haven Baptist Church invites the community to hear the former Sr. Pastor of Hebron Baptist Church, Larry Wynn, on Sunday, September 29 in the 8:15, 9:45, and 11 a.m. services. Grief Share is at 4 p.m. Awana Clubs meet at 5:30 p.m., and the evening service is at 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 2 at 7:30 a.m. The monthly Public Servants Breakfast will be held in the gym. Unity Grove Baptist Church will celebrate their 137th Church Anniversary on Sunday, October 6 at 2:30 p.m. The guest speaker is Rev. Frank Middlebrooks of New Greater St. John Baptist Church. Call the church at 770-957-2313. The church is located at 1129 Leguin Mill Road in Locust Grove.

Mount Carmel UMC will have their annual BBQ and Yard Sale on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. They will also hold a revival on October 6 - 8, it will take place each night at 7 p.m. The church is located at 1933 Mount Carmel Road in Hampton.

Mt. Bethel Methodist’s Sisters in Christ will have a yard sale Sept. 27 and Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the corner of South Ola Road and 81 East. McDonough First United Methodist Church invites the community to a BBQ held by First UMC Men’s Club on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 5 p.m. to kick off their Fall Revival. BBQ Chicken plates are $8. The revival will be from Oct. 6 - 8. Key speaker is Dr. John Ed Mathison, a nationally known author of several books. Theme: “When God Redefines the Possible.” Services will be held Sunday, October 6 at 8:30 and 11 a.m. as well as 7 p.m. nightly Sunday through Tuesday. A free Power Lunch will be October 7 and 8 at noon in the fellowship hall with a meditation by Dr. Mathison. Henry Baptist Church will present a 13-week spiritually based class for those who have lost a loved one. This class is free and open to the public. The class is currently meeting on Sundays from 3 to 5 p.m. Topics include: living with grief, the effects of grief, loss of a child, what is heaven like, journey of grief, loss of a spouse, and suicide. Mount Zion United Methodist Church invites the community to their Fifth Sunday Sing-A-Long at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29 in the sanctuary. Guests from other churches in the community will participate, and congregational singing will be led by Mike Wallace, with Alice Wallace as pianist. Refreshments afterward in Harper Hall.
