  Mt. Bethel Methodist's Sisters in Christ will have a yard sale Sept. 27 and Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the corner of South Ola Road and 81 East.   McDonough First Assembly of God will begin their Revival on Sunday, Sept. 15 at the 10:45 a.m. morning worship time. There will be another service Sunday evening beginning at 6 p.m. and then Monday, Sept. 16 through Wednesday, Sept. at 7 p.m. nightly. Evangelist Joe Phillips will be ministering the Word.   McDonough First United Methodist Church invites the community to a  BBQ held by First UMC Men’s Club on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 5 p.m. to kick off their Fall Revival. BBQ Chicken plates are $8. The revival will be from Oct. 6 - 8. Key speaker is Dr. John Ed Mathison, a nationally known author of several books. Theme: “When God Redefines the Possible.” Services will be held Sunday, October 6 at 8:30 and 11 a.m. as well as 7 p.m. nightly Sunday through Tuesday. A free Power Lunch will be October 7 and 8 at noon in the fellowship hall with a meditation by Dr. Mathison. Special music by the McDonough First UMC Choir, Griffin First UMC Choir, Wesley Chapel UMC Choir and a Blue Grass Band. Call  770-957-4150 for more info.   Mount Carmel UMC will have their annual BBQ and Yard Sale on Saturday, Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. For more info contact the office at 404-761-0694. The church is located at 1933 Mount Carmel Road in Hampton.

 

  St Joseph’s  Episcopal Church’s new Rector will be Father Scott Harding. His first service will be on Sunday, Oct. 20. The official installation by the Bishop will not come for several months after that. Sunday services are at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. with nursery and child care available. They have a Wednesday evening healing service at 6:30 p.m. All who are baptized are welcome to receive. The church is located at 1865 Hwy. 20 East in McDonough.    Henry Baptist Church will present a 13-week spiritually based class for those who have lost a loved one.  This class is free and open to the public. The class is currently meeting on Sundays from 3 to 5 p.m. Topics include:  living with grief, the effects of grief, loss of a child, what is heaven like, journey of grief, loss of a spouse, and suicide.   Mount Zion United Methodist Church invites the community to their Fifth Sunday Sing-A-Long at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29 in the sanctuary. Guests from other churches in the community will participate, and congregational singing will be led by Mike Wallace, with Alice Wallace as pianist. Refreshments afterward in the Harper Hall.   The Ole Country Church invites the community to a Sunday Night singing featuring “The Shireys” on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. Call the church at 770-957-2818. The church is located at 2649 Hwy 155 North, in McDonough. 

 

  One Heart Community Church has an After School Program available from 1 until 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. They will serve and minister to the homeless in Atlanta on September 21. Road Riders for Jesus motorcycle ministry (Stockbridge chapter) meets at the church Sept. 28 at 9 a.m. They will be riding to Juliette for lunch at the Whistle Stop Cafe.   Heritage Baptist Church will have their Super Sunday on Sept. 15 at 11 am. Immediately following the morning service will be a free dinner on the grounds. Activities for children include face painting, moonwalk and superslide, cotton candy and sno-cones. Call the church at 770-320-7771.
