Charles Evans Jr.

  Charles “Buddy” Evans, Jr., age 71, of McDonough, GA died August 27, 2013.  He was born in Phoenix City, AL to the late Charles Greenwood and May Coppedge Evans, Sr. Charles was a member of Southside Christian Fellowship.

  Charles is survived by his sons: Charles G. Evans, III, McDonough; Louis (Jennifer) P. Evans, McDonough; grandchildren:  Samantha, Zack, Natasha, Summer, Louis Jr. and Bailey.

Dora Meadows Jenkins

  Dora Meadows Jenkins, 72, of Stockbridge, passed away August 27, 2013. Dora was raised in Augusta, Georgia and attended Richmond Academy. She proudly served as the Deputy Clerk for the Supreme Court of the State of Georgia for 22 years until she retired in March of 2001. Dora was an active member of Community Bible Church and the Henry County Loyal Order of Moose Lodge. She was an avid gardener, a wonderful dancer, an excellent cook, very well traveled and had impeccable style. She loved the holidays, as they gave her a chance to decorate and spend precious moments with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she greatly cherished. Friendship was both strength and a gift in her life. The vast number of close friends she had is a testament to her sparkling and compassionate personality. Her insurmountable beauty, kindness and grace were an inspiration to all of those who were lucky enough to know her.

  Survivors are her husband, Charles Jenkins; three children, Cheryl Seagraves, Chip Anderson and Susan Harrison; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. 

  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dora's name to the American Cancer Society. A memorial service was held August 31 in the chapel at Community Bible Church. SouthCare Cremation and Funeral Society.

 

Robert Herman Brandt

  Robert Herman “Bobby” Brandt, age 52, of Jackson, GA passed away August 29, 2013.  Bobby was born in Chicago, IL and worked for Northwest Airlines most of his working career.  He attended South Point Fellowship in Locust Grove with his family when he was able.  Bobby enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, hunting, water skiing, boating and was an avid Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Braves Fan. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sarah Pace Brandt. 

  Survivors are his wife, Tammy Brandt of Jackson; children, Robby and his wife Brandy of Jackson and Marci Brandt of Jackson; father, Robert G. Brandt of Jackson; sister, Traci Brandt DeLong of Jackson; nephews, Joseph and Lauren Delong and Nick and Jessica Delong of Jackson; great niece Kayleigh DeLong; great nephew, Carter DeLong.

Jack L. Green

  Jack L. Green, age 65, of McDonough, GA died August 31, 2013.  He was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Charles Raymond and Frances Marybelle Barton Green. Jack was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in McDonough.  He worked for 21 years with Eastern Airlines and later was the owner of Green’s Lawn & Landscaping, Inc.

  Mr. Green is survived by his wife of 47 years Diane Green, McDonough; his daughters, Laura Mournighan, McDonough, Michelle and Steve Donaldson, McDonough and Jennifer and Josh Simpson, MD, Greenville, SC; sisters, Idaliene Green, Jonesboro, and Karon Cooper, Hampton; his beloved grandchildren, Tony, Matthew, Dillon, Allison Donaldson and Joshua Mournighan; and a great-granddaughter, Kinley Donaldson.

  Funeral services celebrating his life were held September 3 at Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Al O'Quinn and Rev. Roger Davis officiating. Interment Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.
