Mid Georgia Model Railroad Club to display in Hampton

  The Mid Georgia Model Railroad Club will be setting up a model train display at the Hampton Train Depot on Saturday, August 17 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Sunday, August 18 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. This display is brought to you by the City of Hampton through the Main Street program. This is a free event so make sure to come and see the display.

 

Bethel UMC Ice Cream Social

  On July 27 from 3 - 5 p.m, Bethel UMC is having an afternoon of homemade ice cream and indoor and outdoor games for all ages and interests. Their Youth Praise Band will be performing.  Square Dance Club

  The Lads ‘n’ Lassies Square Dance Club will offer 10 weeks of Basic and Mainstream lessons beginning August 3.  The cost is $5 per person per class.  Classes will be taught by the club’s accredited caller, Bill Jones. The club will host free open house events and demonstration dances on Saturday, August 3, from 6 to 7:45 p.m. at their new location in St. Joseph’s Episcopal Church, 1865 GA. Hwy 20 in McDonough. Free Carwash July 27

  Shiloh’s Men-To-Men Ministry will sponsor a carwash on July 27 from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Church’s education center located at 253 Macon Street in McDonough. There will be refreshments and donations will be appreciated.

 

Upward Soccer

  Wesley Way United Methodist Church is now registering for fall Upward Soccer. This program is for ages 4th - 6th grade for both boys and girls. League fees are $89 and include uniforms. Henry County High School Class Reunion

  The Henry County High Class of 1973 is planning their 40th reunion to be held Saturday, August 31, from 7-11 p.m. at Pilgreen’s at Lake Dow in McDonough. For more information contact Henley Varner at 678-549-5159 or hvarner15@aol.com.

 

Free Genealogy Workshops

  Three free genealogy workshops will be offered by Sara Jane Overstreet, of the Andrew McBride Chapter DAR and the Genealogical Society of Henry and Clayton Counties, Inc. Classes will be 10:30 a.m. until noon on September 21, and November 16. Laptop/iPad encouraged but not required. Visual Artists Collective

  The Visual Artist's Collective will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, July 25 at 6 p.m. at the Gallery...in the Grove. The gallery is located at 3648 Highway 42 in Locust Grove.

 

Hampton Events

  On July 27 come out to McBrayer Movietime and Hampton's Got Talent. The talent show will begin at 6:30 p.m. and is open to anyone who lives or works in the city of Hampton.  The movie begins at approximately 9 pm. This month’s movie is Tom Sawyer. Remember that Park-it-at-the-Market is every Friday at McBrayer Park from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. They have fresh produce and home crafted goods for sale.
