Cynthia Wheeler DeLoach

  Mrs. Cynthia Wheeler DeLoach “Cindy,” age 63, of McDonough, Georgia passed away May 11, 2013. Cindy was born in Stillwater, OK, the daughter of the late Bruce and Mary Cover Wheeler. Cindy graduated and received her Bachelor of Science from Central State University in Edmond, OK and became a registered nurse where she enjoyed caring and doing for others. She was known for her good sense of humor; she enjoyed spending time with her husband and animals, playing golf and shopping. She was preceded in death by a brother, Brent Wheeler. 

  Survivors are her husband, William “Bill” DeLoach of McDonough; brother, Gary Wheeler of CA and two nephews.

  Funeral service for Cindy was held May 14 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. She was carried to Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel in Tuscaloosa for a visitation on May 16 prior to the graveside service at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society in Cindy’s memory for her love of animals. Rich Ficco

  Rich Ficco, age 70, of McDonough, GA died May 12, 2013. He was born in Denver, CO to the late Charles and Mary Jane Bowyer Ficco. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Stongle.

  Rich is survived by his wife, Pat Ficco, McDonough; children: Kevin (Rhonda) Ficco, Marietta; Charlie Ficco, McDonough; Kristine (Jarett) Conley, McDonough; Domenic (Caryn) Ficco, Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Anthony, Natalie, Brooke, Jack, William, Samantha, Teresa, Rocco; nephews: Joe and Jim Stongle.

Donald Dean Head

  Mr. Donald Dean Head, age 70, of Jenkinsburg, GA passed away May 13, 2013. Don was born in Atlanta, GA the son of the late Arthur and Helen Louise Music Head. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Jean Head Sr. Don enjoyed spending time with family and friends, dirt track racing, NASCAR and working. 

  Survivors are his wife, Linda Head of Jenkinsburg; children: Wayne Head of Jenkinsburg, Tammy White (Charles) of Stockbridge, and Angie Sorrow (Donnie) of Jenkinsburg; grandchildren: Chris, Nikki, Trey, Katie, Paul, Cody and Hunter; great-grandchildren: Christina, Zayden, Keelie, Kennedy, and Colton; brothers, Mike Head (Carolyn) of Ellenwood, and Terry Head (Sharon) of Carrolton; several nieces and nephews.

Myra B. Booth

  Myra B. Booth, age 69, of McDonough, GA died May 13, 2013. She was born in Atlanta to the late Andrew Jackson and Ruby Ellene Buffington. Myra was a member of Ole Country Church. She was devoted to family, loved people, enjoyed crocheting, working in the yard, going to the beach and eating catfish. She was preceded in death by her brother, Andy Buffington.

  Myra is survived by her mother: Ruby Ellene Buffington, Mc-Donough; daughter, Tammy Yvonne (Allen) Cody, McDonough; sons: Todd (Stacey) Adams, Social Circle; Darrell (Allison) Booth, Social Circle; siblings, Ted (Vivian) Buffington, Morrow; Jayne (Pat) Hudgins, McDonough; Carol (Raymond) Johnson, McDonough; Brenda (Jimmy) Hill, McDonough; Alice Johnson, Hampton; Daniel Buffington, McDonough; grandchildren: Trey (Ashley) Adams, Tyler (Lisa) Adams, Ansley Booth, Dylan Cody; great-grandchildren: Selah and Judah Adams.

Sam W. Selfridge

  Mr. Sam W. Selfridge, age 86 of McDonough, Georgia passed away May 14, 2013. He was born in McDonough to the late Samuel Isaac and Elvira Fields Selfridge.  He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII as a photographer. He operated Selfridge Carpet Company for 60 years, was a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church and a Mason for 50 years. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, deep sea fishing, playing cards and shooting pool. He was preceded in death by a brother, Max Selfridge, and by sisters Betty Stamps and Jeanette Greer.

  Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Trudell Rape Selfridge; nieces and nephew, Anne Greer, Gary Greer and Sharon Stamps Cost.

  Funeral services were held May 18 from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Boggs officiating. Interment Flippen Cemetery. Becky Heisley

  Mrs. Becky Heisley, age 68 of McDonough, Georgia passed away May 14, 2013. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Irvin and Farell Buffington Mayo. She graduated from Walter F. George High School in Atlanta and operated TLC Dry Cleaning in Fayetteville for 25 years. She attended Community Bible Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Harold Gordon Heisley.

  Survivors include her children, Jeff (Donna) Heisley of Jackson, Tommy (Charlotte) Heisley of McDonough, Angie (Kenneth) Young of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Andrew Heisley of Nashville, TN, Jessica Heisley of Lebanon, TN, Lindsay Heisley of McDonough, Ashlee Landrum of Jonesboro, David Wise of McDonough and Jimmy Moore of McDonough; great grandchildren, Ansleigh and Bryte Wise; sister, Barbara (Harold) Greer of Jonesboro.

  Funeral services were held May 17 from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Floyd Carmack officiating. Interment followed at Jonesboro City Cemetery. Marion Ahlexus Shore

  Miss Marion Ahlexus “Lexy” Shore, age 19, of McDonough, Georgia passed away May 14, 2013. She was born in Riverdale, Georgia to Joseph Austin Grimes and Patricia Irene Shore. Lexy was a free spirit and enjoyed helping people in her neighborhood.  She attended Locust Grove High School and was a member of His Freedom Reigns Christian Church and Amazing Grace World Outreach Church. Lexy, also called LuLu, had aspired to be a brain surgeon in her younger days but had more recently added cosmetology as her career. She enjoyed attending church, music and dancing and loved her family very much. 

  Survivors include her son, Jowan Shore; mother, Patti Stockton; father and stepmother, Joseph and Chasity Grimes; father who raised her, Jeremy Weldon; siblings, Alyssa Weldon, Kaleb Shore and Joniyah Grimes; maternal grandmother, Reba Shore; maternal great grandmother, Grace Otting; paternal grandmother, Catherine Grimes; paternal grandfather, Kenneth Grimes; paternal great grandmother, Lela Mae Grimes and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

John A. Millay

  John A. Millay, age 72, of McDonough, GA died May 15, 2013. He was born in Chicago, IL to the late Joseph A. and Mary G. Kovacs Millay. John was a member of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus member. John served in the US Navy, and he loved to travel. He was preceded in death by his brother, Emmett Millay.

  He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Barbara Millay, McDonough; daughter: Jennifer Millay (Jay) Beck, Woodland, AL; son: Mark J. (Lakriesha) Millay, Stockbridge; granddaughters: Brianne, Tori, Mia, Lexi; siblings: Delores DeGeorge, IL; Mary Jerominski, WI; Robert Millay, IL; Joseph Millay, WI; and Stephen Millay, WI.
