Kids Cancer Club Third Annual Car Wash

  The Kid’s Cancer Club’s Third Annual Car Wash will be held on April 27 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Chick-fil-A on Hudson Bridge Road in Stockbridge. All proceeds go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.


 4-H Summer Camp

 4-H summer camp for Henry County 5th grade students is filling up quickly.  A week of fun and fantastic memories awaits at Rock Eagle 4-H Center, June 10 - 14. Mr. & Mrs. Special Henry County Pageant

  Applications are being accepted for the 11th Annual Mr. & Miss Special Henry County Pageant. Applications are due by May 4. This is a pageant for special needs teens and adults. This year they are adding a children's division for ages 12 and under. The pageant will be held on July 27 at Salem Baptist Church. AARP 55 Alive Mature Driving Class

  AARP instructor John Milani is teaching a course in defensive driving this June at the Heritage Bank community room in McDonough. Milani’s “55 Alive Mature Driving Class” can help participants receive discounts on their auto insurance. A certificate will be awarded upon completion of the class. Registration costs $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. You must be at least 25 years old to register. Visual Artists Collective of Henry

  The monthly meeting of the Visual Artists Collective of Henry County will be on April 25 at 6 p.m. at the the Grove (3846 Highway 42, Locust Grove). All artists in the area are invited to come to the meeting. One item of discussion will be the new exhibition at Piedmont Henry Medical Center.


Hampton Events

  Hampton will have their Annual Car Show at Russel's Automotive on May 11 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Come see the cars and enjoy free hotdogs and sodas.  Russel’s is located at 88 Woolsey Road. Hampton’s Town Hall Meeting is on May 13 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hampton Depot.  Meet the mayor and discuss his projects and community involvement. For more info contact Candy Franklin at 770-946-4306.


Benefit Yard Sale

  Providence Hospice is having a yard sale to benefit The Alzheimer’s and Breast Cancer Associations. It will be held on Saturday, May 18 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Providence Hospice is located at 100 Corporate Center Drive in Stockbridge.


NAMI Meeting

 National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) meetings are held at Jodeco Road United Methodist Church every Thursday night from 7 - 8:30 p.m. sharp. There are two meetings; one for consumers and one for families. Coffee and water are served. The church is located at 1500 Jodeco Road in Stockbridge. Hearts of Henry

  Hearts of Henry meets the first Thursday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Henry Medical Center Education Foundation building. It is an organization offering support and hope for heart patients, their friends, their families and caregivers. Contact Ann Hulett 678-575-7746.
