County Extension Cooking Class

  On Thursday, March 28 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. the Henry County Cooperative Extension: Extension in the Kitchen will hold their Cooking for a Life Time Cooking Class. The cost is $2. Must pre-register by March 21. Call 770-288-8421 or come by the office to register. Space is limited. Their office is located at 97 Lake Dow Road in McDonough.

 

Cut-A-Thon to Benefit Children

  Salon 1325 in Stockbridge will hold a Cut-A-Thon on Monday, April 8 from 3 until 8 p.m. 10 stylists at the salon will volunteer their time to cut hair for $20 per person to help donate money for The South African Children's Resiliency Project (SACRP). Avalon Church of McDonough helps support a village in South Africa that shelters orphans with AIDS. This event will raise money for that cause. Their goal is to raise $1,000 in 5 hours. Brenda Liston (salon owner) will donate 10% of all retail sales during the event to (SACRP) and will also providing food and beverages during the event. Spring Art Fest

  McDonough Arts will hold their Spring Art Fest on Sunday, April 21 from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. on the McDonough Square. They are still accepting vendor applications. Applications are due on April 8 for the Art Fest.  Their Tastiest Traditional and/or Chocolate Pound Cake Contest will also be held that day.
