Crossroads Career Network

  Crossroads Career Network Workshop meets at the Stockbridge First United Methodist Church. This 6-step Christ-centered program for career explorers includes resume, network, job search, and interview techniques. The two-day workshop is $30 (includes workbook, CareerDIRECT online assessment, and lunch), Saturday, March 2 and 9, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. Register at 8:30 a.m. March 2. Visual Artists Collective Meeting

  The monthly meeting of the Visual Artists Collective of Henry County will meet on February 28 at 6 p.m at the Gallery...in the Grove. The gallery is located at 3846 Highway 42 in Locust Grove. AARP Defensive Driving class

  Heritage Senior Center will hold a defensive driving class on March 4 from  9 a.m. until 4 p.m. The cost is $12 for members and $14 for non-members. Heritage Senior Center is located at 1050 Florence McGarity Boulevard in McDonough. For more info contact them at at 770-288-7001.

 

Freedom Fund Banquet

  The Henry County Branch of the NAACP is hosting its 9th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet on Friday, March 15 at 7 p.m. at the Merle Manders Conference Center located at 111 Davis Road in Stockbridge. This annual event celebrates community leaders and top local students. The theme this year is “Moving Forward Through The Struggle.” Tickets are $50 per person. The attire for the affair is formal. Heritage Writers Group

  The Heritage Writers Group has new meeting times. They now meet the first and third Saturdays of each month from 2 until 4 p.m. All writers are invited to visit. Bring two pages double spaced of something you have written to read. They have a lot of fun, and get a lot done. Meetings are held in the Educational Building behind the Church of Christ, 400 Lake Dow Road in McDonough.

 

Cub Scouts

  Faith Baptist Church, located at 346 Highway 138 E (Corner of Highway 138 and Millers Mill Road) in Stockbridge, is now sponsoring Cub Scout Pack 346.  This Cub Scout Pack is open to boys in Grades 1 - 5 and meets on Tuesday evenings. Cotton Indian Gem and Mineral Society meeting

 Cotton Indian Gem & Mineral Society, Inc. meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Bethel United Methodist Church in Stockbridge. Contact Kim Cochran 770-979-8331.

 

Breast Cancer Survivors Support Group

HeartSong Henry Choral Group

  HeartSong Henry is a chorus for special needs teens and adults (13 and older). They meet the first and third Thursday of each month from 6:30 until 7:30 p.m. Interested parties should come to the meeting room a few doors down from Shane’s Rib Shack on Jonesboro Road in McDonough. NAMI Meeting

 National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) meetings are held at Jodeco Road United Methodist Church every Thursday night from 7 - 8:30 p.m. sharp. There are two meetings; one for consumers and one for families. Coffee and water are served. The church is located at 1500 Jodeco Road in Stockbridge. Library Board Meeting

  The Regular Meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Henry County Library System will be held Monday, March 4 at 5:30 p.m. in the Board Room of the Administrative Annex at the McDonough Library.
