Genealogical Society Meeting

  The Genealogical Society of Henry and Clayton Counties, Inc., invites the community to attend a free meeting to be held on February 16 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church Educational Building. Jeff Clemmons will speak about “Rich's: A Southern Institution.” After the meeting, participants will adjourn to the Brown House for refreshments and fellowship.

 

Hampton Events

  Georgia Arbor Day is on February 15. The Tree Board of Hampton will be giving trees to residents of the city of Hampton, beginning at 9 a.m., at the Hampton Depot. Also, don’t forget the Chocolate Fest at the Hampton Depot on February 16 from 7 until 10 pm. The cost is $10 per person.  Join them for a Tiffany’s inspired theme, dance to music supplied by DJ JT. Sample sweet and savory items until your heart is content. This Main Street program will benefit residents of Hampton. The Winter Market in Hampton is going on through February. It is on Saturday from 2 - 6 p.m. at the back of East Main Street. Hours will depend on weather and produce availability. Mama Won’t Fly

  Union Grove High School will present the comedy: “Mama Won’t Fly” on February 13, 14, 15 at 7 p.m. at the Henry County Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $5 in advance or $7 at the door. For information or tickets contact: kbohlke@henry.k12.ga.us

 

New Stage Play Samson’s Way

  The Stage Play “Samson’s Way,” directed by Chris Scott, is opening at the The Remnant Center, Friday February 15 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, February 16 at 6 p.m. Tickets are on sale now. Henry County Beekeepers Short Course

  There will be a Henry County Beekeepers Short Course on Saturday, February 16 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Public Safety Building, 116 Zack Hinton Parkway South in McDonough. It will cover topics on getting started beekeeping. The cost is $25 before or $30 at the door. Georgia Civil War Commission Meeting

  The Georgia Civil War Commission Quarterly Meeting will be held on Saturday, February 16 beginning at 1 p.m. Meeting will be held at the Nash Farm Battlefield, 100 Babbs Mill Road in Hampton. The public is invited to attend.
