Hey Henry is our own little vent section.  Read others' vents, and post one of your own. You'll never look at life the same way again.

Hey Henry, has anyone else considered the revenue that would be generated by putting red light cameras on Highway 20/81 in front of Chic-Fil-A and Race Track? People run that light constantly, like it’s not even there.

Hey Henry, thanks Henry County, starting next year our elementary school children now have to be standing out at the bus stops even earlier. Imagine 5 year olds at the bus stop at 6 a.m. because they start school 15 minutes earlier. Why not the older kids?

Hey Henry, stop perpetuating myths. Any child or person is welcome to pray in schools at any time. The only caveat is that it cannon be led by a teacher. Why? Well, let’s say your child’s teacher is of another religion. You would worry they would be advocating for their own religion. Educate yourself. No one is prevented from praying in a public school. Please stop printing incorrect information!

Hey Henry, it must be nice to sit at Bellamy Strickland for more than an hour, have your personal car serviced and conduct HCWSA business while sitting there. Does Henry County pay for this? I certainly hope not, but everyone in the waiting room commented on it.

Hey Henry, in response to the poster talking about gunfire on Leguin Mill Road: As a land owner in Henry County I have the right to have a range on my land as long as it meets the county regulations. I am not responsible for the fact that a subdivision was built to one side of my property or that you moved to the country. I do find it ironic that city folks move out here and then want to change the way we have lived for decades. My best advice to you is move back to the city where the gunfire you hear may not be friendly fire.

Hey Henry, I have been involved in many productions at the Henry Performing Arts Center and my sisters go there to do their ballet performances. Its an old facility and its always booked which limits opportunities for the performing arts. With the population of Henry County growing rapidly, one auditorium that seats 700 people is hardly enough. So lets make a fuss with the county to build another auditorium or two. By the way most counties have an auditorium in every high school. We have a football stadium with every high school, why not a theater?

Hey Henry, this is for the person complaining about school lunches. If you don’t want your children waiting in line for 20 minutes, why don’t you pack their lunch? Take care of your own kids and don’t depend on everyone else to do it.

Hey Henry, in response to the person who was talking about people who “still defend the sale and possession of automatic assault weapons.” I beg to differ, but you can’ t just bounce into a gun shop and purchase an “automatic” rifle. Maybe they meant to say “semi-automatic” but it gets a little tiring to hear people who claim to know about firearms to keep using the “automatic” description.

Hey Henry, to the person complaining about how many foremen it takes to cut the grass for the HCBOE. There are 50 schools they have to maintain plus the county office and education building, I don’t think 2 foremen are unreasonable.

Hey Henry, the amount of tickets given out at the Square is ridiculous. It just shows how desperate the county is for money.

Hey Henry, to our Henry County police, firefighters, and EMT’s: We all really appreciate you guys and thank you for being so professional when we need you. But, could you please bring back the old sirens that you can hear before you approach. These “new-fangled sirens” cannot be heard until the last minute. God bless and protect you all!

Hey Henry, I wish I could hit a “like” button on Hey Henry like I can on Facebook.

Hey Henry, how about McDonough Police and Public Service helping divert traffic out of the Square when it is closed for filming. That mess yesterday afternoon was terrible!

Hey Henry, a dirt road is not a place to dump your garbage, that unwanted pet nor the carcass of the deer you shot. I live on a dirt road. How would you like it if I dumped on your nice, paved road?

Hey Henry, Sandra Vincent may need to adjust her goals for McDonough. While a commendable idea, can we really afford a “memorial space” funded by taxpayer dollars?

Hey Henry, semi-automatic weapons do not shoot “many bullets at once.” Let’s have a conversation regarding the causes of school shootings, rather than making vague emotional statements with no basis in fact. “Doing something” without thought and acting solely on emotion, rather than rational thought is not the way to address the issue, though it may make you feel better until it happens the next time.

Hey Henry, at HCBOE, and anywhere else, the “grounds” of a building is everything outside. “Grounds” maintenance is more than just cutting the grass. It is maintaining athletic fields and play grounds. It is cutting down trees. It is maintaining the runoff ponds. It is putting up signs so people know they’re not supposed to smoke or have weapons on school “grounds.” It is fixing flag poles and their rope and pulley system. It is a lot more than mowing and weedeating.

Hey Henry, how long can the Henry County Board of Education expect employees to go without a raise. It’s going on seven years and nothing has happened. I know of other companies that are giving raises, and no, they aren’t hiring so don’t tell me to go work there. This is getting old and employees are going to get fed up with low morale and finding ways to do less work.

Hey Henry, can you please put some reflective paint on your roads? They are terrible, especially in the rain, and when its dark that’s double trouble.

Hey Henry, to those who want to arm personnel at schools. You obviously haven’t thought this out well. Even if you’re armed, so what? If you survive the assailant’s first shots, will you have the courage and resolve to face more danger and return fire? Will you have the skill to hit him? How will you and your pistol defeat an opponent armed with an assault rifle? I was personally trained by world pistol master Jeff Cooper and I still wouldn’t want to try it. I’ve been shot at on more than one occasion; it isn’t nearly as much fun as it might seem. The SWAT team will soon arrive, primed to confront an armed man. That would be you.

Hey Henry, the striped part of the road isn’t made from lava. It won’t melt your tires if you get over and out of the way. Please.

Hey Henry, can someone explain to me how these fast food joints with the double drive-thru speakers helps anything? There is still only one window to pick up your food. I think it just adds to the confusion.

Hey Henry, just a quick correction on a post from the week of 1/2. People are “Asian,” objects (e.g. rugs, art, furniture, etc.) are “oriental.”

Hey Henry, in response to the quip inquiring as to why HCBOE has 2 grounds foremen, everyone knows one is to supervise the front lawns and logically, the second is to supervise the rear lawns.

Hey Henry, do you think the people committing these petty offenses you accuse them of doing on here read “Hey Henry?” More than likely, no!

Hey Henry, please demand that our politicians make “creating new jobs” their number one priority this year by doing whatever it takes to bring new companies to Henry. By the way, this does not mean we need any new warehouses or trucking companies.

Hey Henry, if you’ve noticed all of the closed daycare centers around the county it’s because they’re so over-regulated that they can’t stay in business. For example, it now requires a bachelor’s degree to change diapers. And to think that my mother changed the diapers of five babies with just a high school diploma!

Hey Henry, we need to be like some other counties and have a law in regards to all these people wearing sagging pants. Everywhere you go that’s all you see. Wear a belt and get the right size pants.

Hey Henry, the Flag Code states, “The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.” This would be permissible if you were on a boat on the water; on a house, it would imply that your house is in distress! I may agree 100% with the political opinions of such a person, but I would never dishonor the American flag that has covered the caskets of so many of my friends.

Hey Henry, from Slaps & Claps “People who, even now after the tragedy in Connecticut, still defend the sale and possession of automatic assault weapons. You are more concerned with your perceived “right” than what is right. Sad.” What is sad, is that you think your opinion is more valuable than mine. I’ve owned AR’s for 20+ years without 1 incident involving my AR’s. It’s thinking like yours that will cause us to lose our right to bear arms!

Hey Henry, Kudos to the Locust Grove Walmart. On New Year’s eve my coin purse fell out of my purse which had flipped over upside down as I walked to my car. I discovered it immediately and retraced my steps and could not find it. I went to Customer Service then and every day for days in a row, no coin purse had been turned in. I was upset because that little purse had the last of my money for the month, my gas cards, and all my ID. Today I got a package in the mail! My coin purse! Thank God. It was sans the cash, but I got all my cards back. Walmart had sent it back to me. Good work Customer Service. Thank You, Thank You.

Hey Henry, the mass shooting in Connecticut was horrible. Some people say, “where was God at this time?” Well, when the school system kicks God out of the classroom and doesn’t want prayer in the schools, it makes you wonder. It seems we are becoming a society that does not want God in anything we do, such as manger scenes on the courtyard lawn, prayer at football games, etc. The nation will never survive until we put God first in our lives!

Hey Henry, Henry County DFCS wants to thank all of their community sponsors and individual sponsors for supporting the Secret Santa program for Henry County’s foster children.

Hey Henry, I agree with the person who said it’s time for the citizens of McDonough to wake up. It’s a new year. Stop stirring up controversy. There are seven elected officials running the city, not one.

Hey Henry, I have noticed the criticism concerning the plantings on Jonesboro Road coming into town. I would like to say how I like and appreciate them. They make a good impression on our county much like the corridors on Highway’s 54 and 85 do for Fayetteville. I am looking forward to enjoying them more in the Spring.

Hey Henry, a heavy police presence in our county is good for all citizens. It helps with enforcing laws in public and on our roads. My question is who lobbied for the tag light out as being a violation? Does anyone feel safer knowing that your fellow motorist’s tag light is working? Is the toxic reflective paint on the tag not efficient? Can we remove some outdated laws from the books?

Hey Henry, to the the person who hit my orange Camero at the local movie theater on January 1 and left: you should be ashamed of yourself for not leaving your information. Whomever you are, you’re a jerk and I hope someone does the same to you. What comes around goes around.

Hey Henry, if you don’t like my southern accent, get the heck out of the South. No one’s stoppin’ you!

Hey Henry, When I lived in Alpharetta, the fire departments offered a program to all residents that wanted to participate. It is called a Vial of Life Project. It is a medical form retained by the resident that listed medical info, meds, contact numbers, etc. A sticker was provided for the refrigerator that the resident participated in the program and where the vile was located. This was welcome info for our EMT’s and an aid in knowing who they were helping. Any interest Henry County?

Hey Henry, parents ask your child about their school lunch! Are they standing in line for 20 minutes and running out of food? Is their lunch account always missing money? Parents need to complain to the county so something will be done!

Hey Henry, to the delusional who believe having another person with a gun would have helped recent mass Columbine there was an armed guard. It made no difference. We don’t need or want guns in our schools, and this is not the wild west. Less guns and no semi-automatics that can shoot that many bullets at once is what is needed to begin tackling this!

Hey Henry, why does the HCBOE have 2 grounds foremen? How many foremen does it take to make sure the grass gets cut?

Hey Henry, I take care of my 98 year old mother in my home. I want to sincerely thank the senior citizen services and the Henry County Sheriff’s Dept. for making a very special effort to remember my mother this holiday season. Their kindness has greatly lifted my spirits and they will not be forgotten. God bless them for doing His works.

Hey Henry, way to go Locust Grove Walmart for hiring that gorgeous guy in the electronics department. Think I’ll be buying more movies!

Hey Henry, I just want to say “Thank You” to Kathy Pillatski. As I read the words that you wrote I could tell the heartache you, along with the millions of people across our country, must have felt that day.

Hey Henry, concerning the post about the flag being flown upside down, I believe if you’ll check out the flag protocols, you’ll find that flying the flag in that manner is a sign of distress or danger. It’s appropriate given the condition of our national leadership.

Hey Henry, if President Obama spends his time trying to please the people who didn’t vote for him, he won’t be able to please the ones who did.

Hey Henry, two cops killed in Stockbridge in a month? What have we become, Detroit?

Hey Henry, Oriental people are amazing. Go to YouTube and listen to any US high school band and they sound like a box of clown horns being run over by a truck. Then find an Oriental elementary school band and they could play the soundtrack for a Hollywood film. Why?

Hey Henry, I would like to express my thanks and gratitude to the crew and staff of the Laurel Park Skilled Nursing and Rahabilitation facility. They are truly professional and care for all the patients and visitors. It is a blessing to have such a facility in our area. May God bless each and every one of you.

Hey Henry, why do senior citizens have to pay at athletic events at the schools. Didn’t we pay school taxes for over 40 plus years? Now you want more money from adults over age 65 to watch the children compete. I don’t have anyone playing, I just like to watch and encourage those kids who have no one there to cheer for them. We should have special prices, if we can’t get in for free.

Hey Henry, awesome job Bethany Celebration Choir and director and all those who helped make the cantata “Christmas is Jesus” happen.

Hey Henry, often times we fail to mention the really positive things going on in Henry County. As a Henry County resident as well as an employee in this county - I would just like to take a moment and say “Thank You” to the first responders, educators, health care professionals and faith-based leaders for all of the love and support given to the citizens of Henry County throughout the year.

Hey Henry, I would like to commend the beautiful town of Locust Grove for the Nativity display in front of the Administration Building. In this time of so much unrest, it’s nice to know that the people who run the Locust Grove government did not succumb to the few who cause so much turmoil for Christians.

Hey Henry, when did “right on red” change to “cruise thru the red light and turn right on red.” I see 4-5 cars do this every morning on the Square. I’ve been honked at for stopping on the red light and then turning right.

Hey Henry, will Georgia drivers ever learn to obey highway signs. Move to the right if you are not passing, you are causing a traffic jam.

Hey Henry, the country really needs to examine how we treat people with mental health disorders, as evidenced by the recent tragedies.

Hey Henry, I wonder which tax and tag office you visited. I’ve had the opportunity to deal with both of these offices along with tax commissioner David Curry and was treated with courtesy, kindness, and respect. Also, dealt with code enforcement, storm water management, and planning and zoning this past year and everyone has been helpful and polite. Couldn’t ask for greater people to deal with!

Hey Henry, could whoever it was that decided to replace stop signs with yield signs at highway intersections take down the yield signs and put the stop signs back. That way drivers will return to yielding to oncoming traffic as they did when stop signs were there.

Hey Henry, drivers must stop and stay stopped for pedestrians, not just yield to them. The McDonough Square is out of control. Pass out tickets. Hard lessons stick.

Hey Henry, did you ever notice the effect that weather has on the memory? Any time it starts to snow here, suddenly everybody remembers some place they have to go!

Hey Henry, will someone clarify this for me? Does a Henry County Commissioner have to live in the actual district he was elected in or can he just own a house in that district?

Hey Henry, it is time citizens wake up in McDonough. Your city council has voted to purchase a piece of property for $1M+ more than its fair market value. Additionally, $250k more than the appraised value. The Mayor is refusing to sign the contract because he believes it to be fiscally irresponsible. In response, the council is threatening to remove him from office. First the charter, now this. On the surface, this appears to be waste and abuse. Yes, we need a new public safety building. No, the taxpayer should never pay more than what is a sound investment option. Tax and spend and that is the way it will continue unless you get involved.

Hey Henry, how many of you residents wish City Hall and the Police Department would enforce the noise ordinance laws? They need to enforce these laws. I’m tired of being drowned out!

Hey Henry, this is my third year attending the McDonough Christmas Parade and for the second year in a row I was so impressed with the young men and women in the Henry County High School ROTC. What a super looking group of youngsters. There are good things happening in that school it is obvious. Even my husband was impressed and he is retired Army.

Hey Henry, it seems to me according to the beautiful Special section in this weeks paper we are celebrating Santa Claus’ birthday and not our Lord Jesus Christ’s, He was not even mentioned! “Jesus is the reason for the season.”

Hey Henry, I always knew we had a bunch of idiots in Henry Government. Now I have proof! They’re wasting money with the trees, plants and the upcoming maintenance on Jonesboro Road! I can’t believe it. No wait... yes I do. We’re doomed.

Hey Henry, the thing no one mentions in all the coverage on the mass shootings, is, if there had been one other person with a gun in the immediate area, the shooters would not have been able to kill so many. He would be shot first. Instead of using this as a excuse to remove guns it only shows that more responsible people should carry them.

We replaced Hey Henry this week with a column about the Sandy Hook tragedy. Hey Henry will return on December 26. Thank you for understanding.

Hey Henry, John Denver was right all those years ago. Rocky Mountain High Colorado.

Hey Henry, thank you Commissioner Holder for your years of service to Henry County and District One. You will be missed. Thank you for all you have done. You will always be No. 1!

Hey Henry, when you see my turn signal, I’m signaling my intention. I’m not asking your permission!

Hey Henry, I want to give a long overdue special thanks to the staff and management at Chick-fil-A located on Hwy. 20 in McDonough. I ran out of gas while in the drive thru getting lunch one day. The staff pushed my SUV out of the flow of traffic, they gave me lunch and, even brought me 5 gallons of gas. All free.

Hey Henry, what is it that people don’t understand about backup lights. They serve as a warning that the car is backing up. You can see the car before the driver sees you.

Hey Henry, sadly we have become a nation of whiners and blamers.

Hey Henry, so the teachers in Henry County got 5 more furlough days, yet there is money to landscape the median of Jonesboro road? This confuses the taxpayers.

Hey Henry, to the person who lives on Farmbrook Pkwy. and likes to fly his American flag upside down, I hope you stop and remember the men and women who served and died in order to give you that right.

Hey Henry to the people who feel that Henry County is going in the wrong direction: I suppose that’s how my Native American ancestors felt when the “founding fathers” landed. If I said that you should continue migrating south and don’t stop even if you hit water, then I am no better than you are. We fear most that which we do not understand. We have never met during my nearly 12 years in Henry County, so you have no idea what I am like as a neighbor or a person. I would love to know the criteria by which you judge. At the end of the day, we are all just people.

Hey Henry, Christmas is weird. What other time of the year do you sit in front of a dead tree and eat candy out of your socks?

Hey Henry, thanks to Connecting Henry for making Christmas brighter for over 1000 kids through the Community Cares Toy Shop. It was the best volunteer experience ever! I’ll be back next year!

Hey Henry, I just wanted to say thank you to the phenomenal Woodland Symphonic Band. Their performance at the PAC last Thursday night was great! I really enjoyed it.

Hey Henry, to the inconsiderate person on Leguin Mill Road who uses his yard to target practice. Just because you live outside of the city limits does not mean you don’t have neighbors. We are tired of our peace being disturbed every single day, sometimes at 7 a.m. Go to a shooting range like the rest of us.

Hey Henry, Merry Christmas to all the Henry County Board of Education employees. You will be getting an increase in health insurance and five furlough days for the new year. Again, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Henry County Board of Education.

Hey Henry, I just want to thank the City of McDonough for putting up all the beautiful Christmas decorations for all of us to enjoy, especially on the Square. And I like them up a little early!

Hey Henry, seeing these images of people fighting over material goods on the day after Thanksgiving is directly proportional to what happened on election day.

Hey Henry, all you regular gals and guys parking in spaces marked New/Expectant Mother...really? You can’t walk just a bit further?

Hey Henry, I’ve seen a lot of dumb posts in my time, but this one took the cake “Some teachers think that just because they show up, they are entitled to more money.” I dare you to volunteer in a school. “just show up?” Ha.

Hey Henry, I would like to say “Thank You” to all the people who stopped at the intersection of Old Jackson Road and LeGuin Mill on Monday morning when my van broke down. In less than ten minutes, six people stopped to offer their help. There are still good people in this world! Thank you!

Hey Henry, if you come in for an appointment and sign in this means you are here in the waiting room not outside smoking or socializing. If you are called and don’t answer, don’t get mad because you were skipped. We will not look for you in the parking lot.

Hey Henry, how about a little perspective?

Hey Henry, yes, it is true people do ask if you are licensed, insured and bonded to do work on their property. The reason being folks this day and time are sue happy. The intent was not to criticize those out of work. It is just a fact there are jobs out there but I don’t think most people want to do them.

Hey Henry, please stop sending in “group shots” to the Henry County As It Was section. There’s a reason nobody guessed last week’s picture...nobody cares.

Hey Henry, after dealing with people in the tax assessors office and the tag office in McDonough, I wonder how these people keep their jobs. There are plenty of qualified people ready to take their jobs and treat people with kindness and respect. Mr Curry, rudeness or indifference to taxpayers would be grounds for dismissal in my book. Hope you have some opposition in the next election.

Hey Henry, to the person saying Henry County is heading in the same direction as Fulton, Dekalb and Clayton. You are so right and anyone who can’t see it has their head in the sand. Henry County is not the desirable place it was 20 years ago.

Hey Henry, to the person complaining about the Harley noise. I own a Harley, but it’s not as loud as the truck with no muffler that belongs to the teenage boy next door who runs up and down the street at all hours of the day and night. And remember, most motorcycle riders are always organizing rides for a good cause - like March of Dimes, or to raise funds for a local family who has a desperate need for financial help for a sick child.

Hey Henry, does anybody know anything about Miss Morene? Her shop on the Square is never open but has never officially closed. I used to teach with her and just wondered. Such a sweet lady.

Hey Henry, I don't think the economy is as bad as the media and people make it out to be. Just look at the shopping centers on black Friday. I would like to know where most of these people find the money to buy all of this stuff. Oh, I know, they are using credit cards and getting themselves into more debt. Yes, I do work and so does my wife, so don't send me a Hey Henry, saying to get a job ... If there is a magical answer, please let me know.

Hey Henry, I was at Kroger the other day and my car wouldn’t start. I am disabled and can’t do much physical work. A nice young man came up and got his jumper cables and started my car. In this age when people are so stressed, its nice to know that someone cares.

Hey Henry, to the reader who is complaining about shooting near River Road: You are not “residential.” Really? That area is largely still zoned RA. ... I don't live in that area, [but] I grew up hunting, shooting and riding atvs in that neck of the woods. Although the motorcycle issue seems plausible, if you don't like it, you shouldn't have moved out to the country ... the city limits has ordinances against that stuff.

Hey Henry, I have never seen it take so long to open up a Little Caesar's as it has for the one in Locust Grove.

Hey Henry, Kudos to the folks who planned and executed the Veterans Day memorial at Heritage Park!

Hey Henry, if you offer to clean someone's house, gutters or yards, the first thing they want to know is if if you are bonded, licensed and insured. Starting a small business isn't as simple as walking up to a stranger and offering to work. Times are different from when you were young. Think before you criticize those who are out of work.

Hey Henry, buckle your seat belts and get your weapons ready, Dekalb County, Clayton County and Fulton County are headed this way. I guess we will end up in Florida before it's over with.

Hey Henry, this weekend my mother and I were shopping on the McDonough Square and in the span of an hour we were almost hit three times. Each time we were walking in the crosswalks, where we were supposed to walk. The Square is not a racetrack. Pedestrians have the right of way.

Hey Henry, OF COURSE Pammy doesn't give too much info!

Hey Henry, the person who thought the Chicago teachers strike was a good thing is a great example of what’s wrong with our education system. Some teachers think that just because they show up, they are entitled to more money. In today’s economy, they should be happy to have a job while people are struggling to keep their homes. No one should have a job for life.

Hey Henry, you may nap at work but in our office no one has time. We are too busy serving people in need. Maybe you should try it. Meaning working a job serving the public. Or maybe just working at all.

Hey Henry, [I am] thankful to be an American! As a retired U.S. Military Policeman (Vietnam, and the Cold War), who has been around the world, and observed the “rights” in many countries (no Civil/Human rights)... The freedoms we have are not matched anywhere. Try speaking out in many nations ... prison or you disappear! For all the faults and worries, compared to most nations we Americans are blessed.

Hey Henry, where are people who clean your house, gutters, yard etc. When I grew up everyone did what they had to do to make ends meet, now it seems Americans are rather spoiled or expect the taxpayers to support them. Perhaps this is one of the things wrong with America. I can already hear the naysayers remarking about high wages to support their families. Well start somewhere, however menial the work.

Hey Henry, I voted at Shiloh Education Center and my hat is off to all the poll workers. From start to finish the process took about 20 minutes. It ran like a well oiled machine.

Hey Henry, it will be 2016 before Hwy 155 is widened from Bill Gardner/Hampton Locust Grove Road to Racetrack Road? Lets just make it into a parking lot permanently! Instead of buying real estate maybe we should have invested in our current overly stressed infrastructure.

Hey Henry, why is it that there are sign ordinances that ban people from posting signs, but politicians can litter the streets with their campaign signs? Are they better than everybody else?

Hey Henry, parents need to wake up and realize that the bus drivers are there to safely take your children to and from school. They get paid very little without any raises for years. They need your help in teaching the kids how to behave on the bus, not your harassment.

Hey Henry, it is not even Thanksgiving yet. Why oh why did the City of McDonough already put up the Christmas decorations? Ugh!

Hey Henry, I want to give a shout out to all the Harley-Davidson Riders who ride to benefit others. Loud and Proud! Just saying!

Hey Henry, why do you only print some of the “Hey Henry’s” and not all. I guess if you don’t agree with my opinion you just delete it. Wow! Big surprise.

Hey Henry, I get so sick and tired of hearing about how our school systems need more money to fix things. All they really need is quality teachers and good old fashioned discipline so maybe kids would listen and not constantly disrupt the class. There needs to be consequences for bad behavior. The three strikes and smack rule worked wonders in my time and rarely did kids misbehave in school. We also need good parenting which seems to have fallen to the wayside. Yes parents, your kids are bad in school because they don’t have consequences at home. When I went to school they didn’t have computers nor money for that matter but we had well educated children. Money is not the answer to everything.

Hey Henry, to the person complaining about slow drivers on Jonesboro Road. The speed limit is only 45 mph and if you have noticed, there are police in that corridor that are just looking for drivers like you.

Hey Henry, in regards to the person who dislikes the stick figures with wigs on them. Have you ever heard of Halloween? If you don’t like it, don’t look at it.

Hey Henry, why did the City of McDonough have trick or treating on the Square on during rush hour on a Friday? Traffic was backed up for miles along Hwy 42. It seems like they could find a better day to schedule that on.

Hey Henry, has the writer, who quipped regarding wearing PJ’s to work, ever stopped to consider that perhaps. A) there are those who cannot afford to wear name brand clothing. B) could care less if they have a co-workers respect or C) just don’t want to wrinkle their good threads while they’re napping at work?

Hey Henry, obviously the person complaining that teachers were the only ones getting rewarded was not at the ceremony last week at the PAC. Teachers, custodial workers, bus drivers and paraprofessionals were recognized. Sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder.

Hey Henry, the bailout was not for the auto industry but for the UAW pension plan. Don’t you wish you had someone who could give your pension a bailout?

Hey Henry, loved the Community Bible Church Trunk or Treat. Didn’t care for the business card that was slipped into the kids’ treat bags. Totally inappropriate for a church event and a kids’ event. Boo!

Hey Henry, the Thriller Parade keeps getting better. Can’t wait until next year. Thanks to everyone who made it possible.

Hey Henry, I would like to request that people think twice before they steal anything from a grave. Please keep in mind that this is sacred ground. Last year someone stole the solar lights from our grave lot in Locust Grove. Please return my lights. You don’t need them. God is watching you at all times.

Hey Henry, to the robbers who came to our neighborhood last week and shot the homeowner after he fired a warning shot. Let’s just say no more warning shots. We are prepared and ready. Take that however you want.

Hey Henry, this is to the person trying to justify the loud motorcycles. First of all, “if I can’t hear you, I can’t see you” ?? That makes absolutely no sense. I ride too (but not a loud bike) and if you are depending on that to keep you safe, maybe you shouldn’t be riding. Second of all, many of the “Harley” riders wear little bean helmets that only cover the top of their heads. That might do some good if an acorn falls directly on your head. But that’s about it. So don’t use safety as an excuse to ride those obnoxious bikes.

Hey Henry, what is up with the freaky looking mannequins on Jonesboro Road? These things are just tacky and they are on the main road into our Square! Political signs are bad enough, but spooky looking stick figures with wigs on hay bales is just over the top!

Hey Henry, whatever happened to “Slower traffic keep right?” Not just on the Interstate, but on Jonesboro Road too!

Hey Henry, maybe the new Commissioners will break some of their promises, who knows. But guess what? We know the ones they will be replacing did break their promises. I would rather take that chance and it looks like most of the other voters in Henry County agree.

Hey Henry, everyone should stop thinking about themselves for a minute and help someone else by donating money to the Red Cross to help the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

Hey Henry, when I voted I used my personal address label; thereby cutting down the time to complete their form. It sure sped up the process.

Hey Henry, I hope the voters that voted out the Chairman and the other commissioners realize there is no way the new ones can keep their campaign pledges. No more land purchases. Let’s see how long that lasts when they have to vote on right-away purchases, land is land. No more Executive Sessions. Lets see them openly discuss personnel matters. Remember a promise is a promise. Let’s just see what happens.

Hey Henry, I am puzzled by what I saw at the polling place when voting early last week. GA law states that “no person shall distribute or display and campaign, literature, newspaper, booklet, pamphlet, card, sign, paraphernalia, or any other written or printed matter of any kind, etc., etc.” There was a guy in front of me wearing a T-shirt advertising one of the Presidential candidates but no one at the polling place said a word to him. What’s up with that?

Hey Henry, to the person worried about the Henry County Board of Education parking lot being a used car lot. I’m a tax- payer too. If it doesn’t effect you, mind your own business!

Hey Henry, why has it become ok to wear pajamas wherever you go? I work in an office that serves the public and it is ridiculous how some people dress. If you want respect, dress like you deserve it.

Hey Henry, I heard on the news that Henry County might put cameras on the outside of school buses. I am all for stopping motorists from passing buses while picking up children. But you should not allow non-mandated individuals to enforce the law. If I understand right it will snap a picture when the stop sign is out. What happens when motorists pass when the stop sign is out, long before the bus stops, like I see all the time?

Hey Henry, I’m just completing a Government 101 Class offered by the City of McDonough for citizens who want a first hand class on how our city runs, and who runs it. I want to give a big “Thank You” to all our city personnel. Each class was so intriguing that I couldn’t stand to miss even one.

Hey Henry, to the person talking about leash laws and their sweet little pit bulls not biting anyone. Oh, it’s how you raise them, baloney. Is this why I was bit by one of these so called sweet vicious dogs. They told me, “Oh, he won’t hurt you.” Okay, come and see the scars.

Hey Henry, to the person complaining about the loud noise that Harley motorcycles make. Don’t they understand “If you can’t hear us you can’t see us.” Let’s rally together on this and show our support for those who ride! We ride loud and proud!

Hey Henry, there was a bailout of the auto industry and the banks. The difference is that the auto industry continues to sell cars, but the banks won’t make loans! I have a 790 credit score and no missed or late payments, but because of the drop in home values the banks exploit loopholes to not refinance. If they want to boost economy, lower gas prices to below $2 a gallon and make the banks lend money to those of us who have worked really hard to keep what we have and not walk away. Right now I really want to just walk away. So please, somebody tell me why I shouldn’t.

Hey Henry, that’s great that the Teacher of the Year got rewarded, but as an employee, why don’t they reward people in all departments, including custodial, maintenance, and so forth. I guess we are just considered commodities. For their information, a lot of these people have college degrees, too.

Hey Henry, there was a long line at the Phillips Drive voting precinct today but the process was so organized that we never stopped moving! Impressive.

Hey Henry, thank you to the person who found my cell phone and turned it in at Aldi's on Jonesboro Road.

Hey Henry, is it better to elect a politician that wants to be rich or one that wants to be richer?

Hey Henry, I'm thinking of utilizing the mentoring program offered at the schools for my child and would like to know if anyone in the county has ever used the program. If so, are you satisfied and has it helped your child?

Hey Henry, why are all the gas stations on Highway 81 east of McDonough always an average of 20 cents a gallon higher than most stations?

Hey Henry, to the person who took the flowers from my husband's grave in Eastlawn Cemetery, you are despicable. You replaced my beautiful arrangement with a badly faded one that was falling apart. Did you think I would not know the difference? I also think you used some glue to keep it in the vase. I had to dig it from the vase.

Hey Henry, I would like to know when the Henry County Board of Education Building parking lot became a used car lot?

Hey Henry, I would like to send a special "Thank You" to the members of Turning Point Church who helped my teenage girls when they were hit by another car. Your kindness made an awful situation easier. Thank you for calling us and taking care of our girls until we arrived. Your kindness is very much appreciated.

Hey Henry, to the person who wrote about the guineas or wild turkeys crossing the road on Old Jackson. These are wild birds. If you have a problem with them move into Atlanta or something. There are still rural areas around here. Next, I guess you’re going to fuss about the deer around here. Enjoy the country while you still can.

Hey Henry, I would like to know when the lines are going to be painted on Coan Drive? It is dangerous at night and when it's raining.

Hey Henry, I would like to give a big Thank You to the crew at Pizza Hut in Locust Grove for their donation of pizzas to the Henry Hurricanes Wheelchair Handball team and their competitors, the Gwinnett Heat, this past Saturday. The lunch was very appreciated by the players and their families during the double header game.

Hey Henry, the BOC does not own the airport. The taxpayers of Henry County own the airport. The BOC just used OUR money to buy it, without our permission by the way.

Hey Henry, does anyone know why the sidewalk has been torn up on L.G./Griffin Road in Locust Grove. It was put in a year or so ago with stimulus funds. Now it is being torn out and it looks like they are installing water pipes. Don’t these people talk to each other when they are planning a project? I sure would like to know what is going on.

Hey Henry, in response to the person talking about leash laws, most pitbulls are not mean. It depends on how they are raised and who raises them.

Hey Henry, I want to thank the precious person that found my card and letter from Kohl’s in the Target parking lot and took the time and effort to mail it to me. I knew I had somehow lost it but did not have any ideal where. What a nice surprise to see it in the mail. You are one of God’s angels. From one Christian to another, God Bless!

Hey Henry, since Henry County teachers can be fired for “job abandonment”- read: out for several days without a doctor’s excuse, and we in Georgia are prohibited from striking, we will lose our jobs if we have any kind of “job action.”

Hey Henry, to the politician who is against Charter Schools and unhappy with our Governor. You must be very proud of the Clayton and Dekalb County School Boards. Maybe the Governor sees what you refuse to see.

Hey Henry, I would like to thank the City of Stockbridge for having the second annual Bridgefest in the Pines festival. Miranda Roberts and Heidi Sewell and their staff did a remarkable job setting up the event. There were crafts, fun, and entertainment for everyone.

Hey Henry, talking about noise ordinance, how about putting a silencer on these loud motorcycles that sound like a pea thrasher. I am talking about these Harley bikers. They all sound the same, but they seem to want to out-do each other on how their motors sound. They sound horrible.

Hey Henry, I can’t believe you would print such a mean and cruel post about overweight people who live in this county. There isn’t any proof that overweight people die any faster than skinny ones. Ask the young mother who was 28 years of age in great physical condition working out at the gym and suddenly died. I think she would tell you different if she were still alive. Shame on you!

Hey Henry, if you want to take credit for something, then show up and participate! Do not expect to put your name on it and do nothing. Stand up and do something. Show up!

Hey Henry, Henry County Republican Committee where have you been? You should make yourself visible to the Republicans in our community by placing literature and campaign items where the general public can see and buy them. We have to hunt you up. No wonder there aren’t many Romney stickers on cars. You aren’t doing your job.

Hey Henry, I hope the person or persons that broke into my husband’s truck at the Walmart in front of Highway 138 enjoy the radio and CDs. We work and try very hard to make a decent living and then there are people who like to take the easy road. I cannot judge you for what you did but God will. I do hope you get a chance to listen to some of the Christian CDs. And I pray that you will reap what you sow. May God have mercy on your soul.

Hey Henry, a 14 and Under girls softball team had a spirit night to raise money for their team at a local restaurant. Our players, parents and friends all went there to have dinner, and part of what the team brought in was to be given back to the team as a fundraiser. They cheated 14 year old girls from their fundraiser. They ignored our calls and we never received the money. Our team brought in hundreds to that restaurant that night and they did not keep their word. Beware if you have a spirit night there.

Hey Henry, the economy is bad? I don’t think so. Everybody and their brother eats out just about everyday in Henry County. Every time you turn your head, someone is driving a new car or one of those gigantic SUV’s. Just about everyone I know is going out of town on vacation. I sure would like to know where they find these high paying jobs.

Hey Henry, I’m a concerned grandparent and went to grandparent’s day at New Hope School. Their health score was 88. The reasons were for undercooked food and personal cleanliness. I’m not sure I want my granddaughter to eat there anymore.

Hey Henry, tailgaters slow me down. You tailgate me, I slow down!

Hey Henry, I was at Kroger and my car wouldn’t start. Being disabled, there wasn’t much I could do. A nice young man came up, got his jumper cables and started my car. In this age when people are so stressed it is nice to know that someone cares.

Hey Henry, hats off to the teachers in Chicago. We need to do this in Henry County, but I believe teachers are too afraid of losing their jobs.

Hey Henry, I think I will open up a funeral home in Locust Grove. As many overweight people as there are walking around Henry County, I should have plenty of business. Instead of eating out all the time, they need to spend all that money on prepaid funerals, because they probably won’t live past 45 years old. Thanks in advance for the business.

Hey Henry, to the lovely couple and the lady who helped me when I fell outside of Kroger. Thank you so much for your kindness and concern. It really hurt and I wanted to cry, but your kindness kept the tears at bay!

Hey Henry, Stockbridge’s staff was and is already disciplined, and if by change you mean running off employees with years of valuable experience and knowledge, disrespecting and demeaning employees, and falsely and maliciously accusing employees of everything from theft to ticket fixing, then YES, we resist that change!

Hey Henry, my house has been broken into three times in the past two weeks during the daytime. Maybe the county can hire a security force to patrol our neighborhoods to keep us safe while our police look for speeders?

Hey Henry, aren’t there dog leash laws? My neighbors breed pit bulls and they run loose in the front with no signs to warn people. They are dangerous, I’ve seen it first hand.

Hey Henry, I have noticed when I take my child to school (Timber Ridge) almost every time a non-handicapped person is parked in the handicapped spot. Not only is this against the law but what kind of example does this set for their kids?

Hey Henry, regarding the airport, one of your Hey Henry patrons does not know the difference between the BOC and BOE. The BOC owns the airport.

Hey Henry, does the city of McDonough have a noise ordinance? I am constantly being awakened by loud music from the vehicles riding up and down the neighborhood of Regency Park.

Hey Henry, it is great to see changes at Woodland Middle School, just sad that it took this long for them to happen.

Hey Henry, to the people who are messing with mailboxes in the Lake Dow area, you’re involved with a federal offense.

Hey Henry, to the person referring to “cops being in private driveways”.... as a cop, you’d be surprised how many times we are asked to sit in people’s driveways to help stop speeding vehicles. As long as he can be seen from 500 feet away clearly, there is no violation.

Hey Henry, does Henry County or McDonough have a noise ordinance for autos. I hear quite a few going up and down Hwy. 155 with their music jacked way up and others that are in need of muffler repair.

Hey Henry, I believe in about five years, Henry County is going to be another Clayton County. Everybody hang on and be sure you’re armed and don’t go to the shopping centers at night because you will probably be robbed.

Hey Henry, why is it that people keep ignoring the obvious drug dealing going on at the intersection on Independence Road in the Saratoga Woods subdivision in McDonough?

Hey Henry, do you think the leaders we elected in Stockbridge to manage the city will ever grow up enough to actually worry about city business instead of all the finger pointing and fighting?

Hey Henry, can we sell the airport we bought but never really needed now? The money we get can be used to buy duct tape for teachers to hold together school books for our students.

Hey Henry, the political “robocalls” were so bad this last time, we cancelled our home land line. It’s horrible that we had to do this, we’ve had that phone number for almost 18 years.

Hey Henry, I would like to say thank you to all the teachers who work hard everyday to teach our children. Also, I would like to thank the maintenance and custodial staff that keep our schools clean. Shame on Henry County Board of Education and shame on the State of Georgia for not giving these people a raise in going on six years.

Hey Henry, what has happened to the Republican Party in Henry County? Are we supposed to come out and support them without knowing who they are and what their plans are for Henry County? Who is running the party and why aren’t they visible in the county.

Hey Henry, in regards to the person who wrote about the Mayor of Stockbridge’s attitude, perhaps the problem is his staff doesn’t like discipline and don’t want any changes. Time to clean house in Henry County.

Hey Henry, thanks to the four folks from the Haunted History Tour who stayed late to rescue me after I locked my keys in the car. When no one else would help, y’all didn’t give up until we opened the door. You were my angels! Thank you!

Hey Henry, can the dog owner that allows your animal to come in my yard and leave it’s droppings at least be considerate enough to pick it up? And you stand there watching?

Hey Henry, what high school football game are you going to where you only spend $5? The tickets are $7 for the Woodland High football games. I agree students should be free (elementary age) or half price.

Hey Henry, speaking as a library employee, let me set the record straight: There is no change in the cell phone policy. Please turn your cell phone to mute or vibrate and take all calls outside the buildings.

Hey Henry, the awesome students in the special needs class at Luella High School would like to give a huge “Thank You” to the generous gentleman in the Freightliner shirt who donated $20 so we could enjoy a cool, refreshing Frosty at Wendy’s on a recent Community Based Instruction trip. The world is full of wonderful people and you touched our lives!

Hey Henry, to the person fussing about the round-about at Fairview Road and Highway 155! We love it and our grandkids call it the “round d round.” This was a great idea and it keeps the traffic going. A big thank you to whoever came up with that idea.

Hey Henry, I keep my yard neat so if I find your kids’ toys laying in front of my house, I’m going to pick up the trash.

Hey Henry, listen up some of you drivers that use Daily Mill Road, Please stay in your lane while crossing the bridge at Walnut Creek.

Hey Henry, the person talking about jobs in Henry County, forget it. You have to be a family member or friend. That’s how most people get jobs now-a-days. A degree used to mean something. Now it’s who you know and who you are related too. Just go to the Henry County Board of Education and look around.

Hey Henry, I think it is ridiculous when you have well water and the County won’t run water down the road you live on, but you have to pay tax for county water! Seriously?

Hey Henry, there is one good thing about Honey Boo Boo. The American tax payers won’t have to fund the wide-load electric chair she will need for shopping at you-know-where-Mart. She should be able to afford it herself!

Hey Henry, to the two McDonough police officers who gave a woman 2 speeding tickets at the same time for the same incident on Industrial Blvd. One would have sufficed. Meanwhile in the crime world.

Hey Henry, congratulations on the Chicago teacher strike. At least they have the courage to strike. Henry County teachers are too scared, they might lose their jobs. Until they get together and protest, they may never get a raise.

Hey Henry, to the person complaining about people coming late to appointments. I assume you were referring to medical appointments. I would gladly show up early for a doctor’s appointment, if I knew I would be seen at the time set aside for me. However, most of the time I’m stuck in the waiting room well past my designated appointment time. No wonder my blood pressure is always higher in the doctor’s office, than at home.

Hey Henry, thank you to Dody Morris for your letter to Dr. Ethan Hildreth. I don’t need to say more. She said it all!

Hey Henry, libraries are becoming internet cafes. I think we should get rid of the expensive computers and get back to providing books. We don’t owe anyone internet access. It’s time to start thinking inside the box again.

Hey Henry, to the person asking why schools don’t pray or say the pledge. Our school does say the pledge every morning. We don’t pray, but we do have a moment of silence.

Hey Henry, I work for a group of physicians in Stockbridge and would like to thank a guardian angel, Julian, who came to the aid of an elderly patient today. Our patient lost his footing in the parking lot and he fell. His wife and I were unable to lift him up. Julian saw our dilemma, stopped his car and came to our aid. Many, many other people just walked by and never offered any assistance. He treated our patient with dignity and respect and his kind gesture should be recognized. His kindness restores my faith in mankind. Thank you again.

Hey Henry, what ever happened to “respect your elders?”

Hey Henry, who’s bright idea was it to build a round about at the intersection of Hwy 155 and Fairview Road? People have a hard enough time at a four way stop.

Hey Henry, to the one who burglarized our home in Locust Grove. Try it again and let me know how it works out for you.

Hey Henry, yeah, we only paid for the courthouse and the parking lot. What nerve we have thinking we can park in the reserved spaces. Maybe there shouldn’t be any reserved spaces.

Hey Henry, over the past three years, I have called City Hall to ask why they are not spraying for mosquitoes, considering there have been cases of West Nile reported in surrounding counties in the Metro Atlanta area? What is it going to take for taxpaying citizens to get the City of McDonough to start spraying? I will continue to call until I get some answers.

Hey Henry, why does the Henry County School System go so far out of their way to avoid teaching special needs students? It would take less time and effort to do it right the first time.

Hey Henry, the county needs to make a rule that you have to take down yard sale signs after the sale ends. Sometimes you see them up for weeks later. Maybe a fine should be given if they are not taken down two days after the sale.

Hey Henry, to the parent complaining about their children wearing coats to school. The very first thing parents were told when the year started was for children to bring a light coat to leave at school because it is going to be cool. When you get 20 to 30 kids in a room, it gets very hot for the teacher who has to move around working with the kids. I would rather be cool any day than hot!

Hey Henry, when you have an appointment that means it is your designated time set aside especially for you. So, come on time and don’t get all huffy and mad when the office reschedules. Everyone knows Henry county has a traffic problem so plan accordingly.

Hey Henry, to the thieves who broke into the Youth Building at Philippi Baptist Church in Locust Grove. To be a thief is pathetic, and to steal from a church is absolutely pitiful! You need to get a real job, and take care of yourself! You stole from teenage kids. I hope you feel good about yourself. We are praying for you, because unless you repent to the Lord, you will pay the price for your horrible deeds!

Hey Henry, why is it taking so long to complete the bridge over the railroad on Rock Quarry Road? We are by there regularly and half the time no work is being done. Will we see completion by December?

Hey Henry, to the writer who missed the memo about the “Yield” signs now becoming a “Merge” sign - I missed that memo as well as the memo regarding making a right turn on a red light. Just because the law allows a right on red, you still have to stop and do not have the right to cut off on-coming traffic.

Hey Henry, I asked one of the ladies at Fairview library about the cell phones being used and she said that it was probably because the customers wanted to use them and got mad when they were told they couldn’t. I’m sorry, but that’s no reason. I don’t want phones and noise in the library.

Hey Henry, is anybody wearing flip-flops to work this summer?

Hey Henry, can we get some pickleball courts in this county? People are going crazy over it, but there is no place to play.

Hey Henry, to the Wal-Mart on Hudson Bridge, I could not shop Saturday for having to move to either let someone put up stock, or for empty stock carts in the way or the floor sweepers asking me to move. What’s up with that?

Hey Henry, is there a reason that some of our county schools and ball parks, which are government run, leave the flag flying at night? The US Flag Code (United States Code Title 4 Chapter 1-The Flag, §6. Time and occasions for display) states that it is customary to fly the flag only from sunrise to sunset unless properly illuminated.

Hey Henry, I had forgotten there is a McDonough elephant until I saw it on Griffin Street just past the churches.

Hey Henry, if the Henry County Board of Commissioners can pray and pledge the flag before the beginning of each meeting, then why can’t the schools?

Hey Henry, if you come to the Henry County Courthouse, and are not an employee, please notice that the parking lot behind the courthouse has signs at both entrances that read “Parking For Employees Only.”

Hey Henry, I hope the run-off election sent a loud message to our elected officials: you can’t use public funds to pay for your pet projects, while crying crocodile tears about reductions in public safety, libraries, and maintenance. Also, don’t underestimate the intelligence, or the memory-span, of the voters.

Hey Henry, how long is it going to take the county to paint the lines on Coan Drive and Old Jackson Road. I figured about another ten years because it took them at least 20 to repave the roads.

Hey Henry, sure would love to find an administrative job in Henry County. All this talk of growth, yet no jobs are available. What gives?

Hey Henry, I think kids 8 and under should be admitted into Henry County sports/games for the price of a child’s ticket. $2 maybe? Not the $5 adult admission price. Some families need a break!

Hey Henry, we need a like and dislike under all these comments. Sure would be nice.

Hey Henry, please call the administrators at the McDonough branch of the Henry County libraries and complain about the idiotic decision to think about allowing cell phone use in the library. This is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of.

Hey Henry, so sad that yet another employee is leaving the City of Stockbridge. When will the Mayor learn that his attitude is the problem, not everyone else?

Hey Henry, my kids are wearing jackets to school in August because the teachers keep the AC up so high. How about letting the teachers wear shorts instead?

Hey Henry, hats off to the Henry County Fire Department and the City of Stockbridge for burning down the perfectly good 168-year-old Hightower home for no reason.

Hey Henry, whoever had the bright idea about cell phones in a library needs to think again. I go to read and study and do research. If I have to listen to more noise, I won’t go back. What a stupid idea.

Hey Henry, I was impressed with the excellent service I received at the Stockbridge tag office. Quick and painless. On the way out I penned a quick compliment and dropped in the suggestion box. Last week I received a phone call from the Tax Commissioner, David Curry, personally thanking me for the compliment! As if the man is not busy enough he takes the time to personally call customers... Impressive!

Hey Henry, when all the good teachers leave, enjoy that data!

Hey Henry, to Jimmy Cochran: thanks for the memories of books! The Bobbsey Twins, The Boxcar Children. I have not thought of them in years. I have all the Bobbsey Twins books. Thanks again for the great write up.

Hey Henry, please vote on November 6, but check your facts first. $716 from medicare is being used to reduce the cost from insurance companies and the cost of prescription drugs. I guess you want an $8,000 voucher. How much is that going to get you?

Hey Henry, the speed limit on Leguin Mill Road is 45 from Peeksville to Unity Grove Elementary and 35 from Unity Grove to Old Jackson. You can ride my bumper all you want, but I am not going to go any faster. I live on Leguin Mill, I have had multiple accidents in my front yard because people going way too fast and losing control. If you are in that big of a hurry, leave earlier. They should have never paved the rest of Leguin Mill many years ago.

Hey Henry, for the person complaining about their children being 10 minutes late, get up earlier!

Hey Henry, I just moved back to Clayton County from Henry. Got a great deal on a house and my commute is cut in half! Figured I might as well since Henry is going down the tubes so fast.

Hey Henry, I have never seen such nasty political campaigns before the current election. Some of the fliers I received were so vulgar my mailbox would have been rated X. Clean campaigns achieve the desired result.

Hey Henry, my family has been dealing with pure heartache and tragedy this past week, when we lost our wonderful Jason Holland, however the support and love that our great little community of Ola has poured out to us has been beyond believable and only heard of in fairytales. Our Ola schools, churches, and businesses have really come together to embrace our family, and for that we are forever thankful. On behalf of our families, we thank you Ola. We are very blessed to live in such a loving caring community. As we state: WE ARE OLA! That saying could not be more true and not only said, but acted on as well. Thank you again. God Bless you all.

Hey Henry, does anyone know what happened to the Kroger that was supposed to be built on Racetrack Road? The signs are gone (Kroger building site) as well as all the construction trailers and equipment.

Hey Henry, bring hockey back to Georgia! R.I.P. Atlanta Thrashers (1999-2011).

Hey Henry, the speed limit on Phillips Drive in McDonough went from 35 mph to 25 mph. No sign was ever posted indicating a speed reduction. Just saying!

Hey Henry, senior citizens are you aware that the federal government has used $716 billion taken from Medicare to fund the Affordable Care Act? That’s money we paid into the system that will not be available now. If you have Medicare Advantage, wave bye bye. It’s going away. Do some research and remember it when you go to the polls on November 6.

Hey Henry, to those complaining about fire trucks at Wal-Mart, maybe they missed lunch because they were running a call. Maybe they missed breakfast AND lunch, because they were running calls. Or maybe they were there shopping for something for a project. If you want to know, go ask them before you blast them. As for leaving the truck running, it’s cheaper than a tow bill. If they return to their truck and it doesn’t crank, what do they do then? Finally, as for the person in a Fire Dept truck parking in a handicapped spot... Just plain lazy.

Hey Henry, I was in McDonough library today and heard two ladies talking about the libraries starting to let people use their cell phones inside the library! If they make this stupid decision I will have to go to Clayton county where it is quiet and more peaceful! Tell me this is a joke!

Hey Henry, if the county can’t afford a red light at the intersection of Hwy 138 and Hemphill Road, has anybody thought about shaving the ditch and taking more of the curve out? It is very dangerous, especially pulling out of Hemphill Road and turning left. Think about it!

Hey Henry, maybe if so many kids were not crossing attendance lines for school choice, etc., their parents could get to school on time. The ones who are always late should be forced to go back to their home school and ride the bus!

Hey Henry, when HCFD receives a call that there is an accident, medical emergency or house fire, they don’t have time to retrieve their personal auto. Just because these hardworking, underpaid men and women need to eat shouldn’t be a problem. Get a life and let these people continue protecting it. Thank you all for a “Job Well Done.”

Hey Henry, today was the second time during the past month I have driven up to the McDonough Bank of America ATM and found the machine asking me if I want an additional transaction because the person in front of me did not follow directions and press done. Not everyone is honest and could wipe out your accounts. Just a reminder, when you have completed your transaction, please be sure to hit “done” and don’t leave the ATM until the home screen returns.

Hey Henry, to all people who are boycotting Chick-Fil-A because of Truett Cathy’s personal feelings about marriage... The penalty for being homosexual in Saudi Arabia is death. Are you going to stop buying gas also?

Hey Henry, if the County is in dire financial shape can someone explain to me why a fireman would drive a big fire truck to lunch and run errands at Wal-mart and leave the fire truck running and wasting fuel?

Hey Henry, just want to say thank you to the lady with the baby who found my purse in the Kroger grocery buggy Monday evening. Cannot thank you enough for your honesty! Nice to know there are still awesome people in McDonough. God Bless you.

Hey Henry, why is the Post Office here in McDonough allowed to look like the city dump. There is trash strewn all around, the flowerbeds are never weeded, the trees all need trimming as well as the hedges and and the grass needs regular cutting. What an eyesore in this city.

Hey Henry, kudos to the staff at the Locust DDS office! They do a great job helping calm in the confusion and maintain an orderly flow. The office is understaffed but does the best with what they have. Not so much for the customers who obviously can't read/comprehend clear instructions.

Hey Henry, congratulations to Henry County resident, Connor Price! He left last Wednesday for the United States Navy. He's one of many who protect our freedom everyday.

Hey Henry, just watched the commissioners meeting of 8/7/2012. They awarded a contract for $70,320 for engineering services to design Frog Road. I know for a fact, Henry County has at least 6 engineers on staff, with 3 of them being registered. Why are we paying for outside services, in this economy, when we have engineers working for us? Are they incompetent, and not qualified to design a road? Seems we are wasting a lot of money somewhere.

Hey Henry, and all people in Georgia: Please stop breeding animals, as the shelters are full of homeless pets!

Hey Henry, the field of medicine to be in over the next 5-10 years is chiropractic, because the number of kids that will begin to experience curvature of the spine, due to keeping their necks always bent down to text! Come on parents, this could be the next epidemic of the 21st century! Great Job.

Hey Henry, to all the cyclists who insist on riding on Hwy. 20/81 at rush hour. Can you please do this at some other time rather than rush hour every evening? Traffic is bad enough without having to dodge cyclists and someone is going to get hit.

Hey Henry, for the person complaining about their children being 10 minutes late, get up earlier, duh!

Hey Henry, I must have missed the email when they changed yield signs to mean merge!

Hey Henry, I know these 5K walk/runs are for a good cause, but can’t they do them around a high school track instead of shutting down residential streets for 45 minutes with no warning? The first time someone dies because an ambulance cannot drive through thousands of people flooding the streets, someone in this county will show some common sense and change this practice.

Hey Henry, what is with the Henry County Fire Department’s regular sized truck parked in the handicapped spot at the Publix at Lake Dow. This truck has no handicap tag or any visable sticker stating they are disabled. This is the second time I have seen the same truck parked there. If you are an able bodied working fireman don’t you think those spots are for disabled people or the eldery who are not able bodied? Anyway, isn’t that a $500 fine?

Hey Henry, you have to be kidding. When you call to put yourself on the “do no call list,” you are signing yourself up to be on the call list. You don’t think your info gets sold? Think again.

Hey Henry, so the muppet master is banning Chick-fil-A. I say yipeeee. I am so sick of these people thinking that banning Chick-fil-A will hurt them. I think his business speaks for itself. God has his hands firmly on Truett Cathy’s business and I am glad to see a company stand firmly on it’s Christian beliefs. We would all do well to follow Mr. Cathy’s example. I think our country would be in much better shape. I say Mr. Cathy for president.

Hey Henry, it’s my understanding from the organization officials of the softball games that take place in Locust Grove that no coaches should be chewing tobacco during any practice and/or softball games. Our coaches should be setting a good example for our future generation and chewing tobacco is NOT setting that good example.

Hey Henry, please ask the Street and Roads Department to remove the “Deer Crossing” sign on Airline Road just east of Highway 155. Too many deer are getting hit by cars there and hopefully the Department can find a safer place for them to cross.

Hey Henry, to the wired up Henry County cop at the Chick-fil-A on Saturday afternoon: (the confrontational one trying to exit in the wrong lane, driving directly at the front of another car, and then yelling at other drivers on the PA system) my 12 year old daughter wanted to know why you were acting so badly. I didn’t have a good explanation for her.

Hey Henry, a big big Thank You to Tracy and the ladies in the Locust Grove City Hall for helping my daughter, Anna! I know how busy ya’ll are and you really went above and beyond!

Hey Henry, if Missy Elizabeth apologizes for that stand on “T-Splost we might vote to re-elect her again. Love you Liz but following the "Good Ole Boys” about cost you big time! This old Warrior loves the Henry County Times, and Moyes RX, y’all keep up the good work!

Hey Henry, the first day of school on East Lake Rd, particularly East Lake Elementary, was a disaster. Parents, who want to walk your kids into school, please park on the road so when you are pulling out of your parking spaces you are not delaying the carpool lane. We are trying to get our kids to school, too. My son was 10 minutes late after sitting in line for 20 minutes and then it was another 15 minutes before I was able to escape the madness. A complete nightmare!

Hey Henry, why are citizens who work out at the J.P. Mosely Gym forced to watch only Fox News. We are told that Fox News is the only channel on both televisions that we are allowed to watch. This is neither fair nor balanced.

Hey Henry, I think the citizens of McDonough should pool their resources and buy a chipper for the City. I have had limbs piled on my property for over a month. Every time I call City Hall they tell me the chipper is not working.

Hey Henry, to the incumbent who’s so proud of cutting the budget by 20 million dollars: we know. That’s why library hours have been slashed, vacant positions are unfilled, services are lacking, and county departments are understaffed. Are you sure that’s something you want to brag about?

Hey Henry, to the person so interested in keeping up with the school buses in the summer. Just to let you know, summer school is going on for special needs students and bus training for new drivers. We are not just out joyriding!

Hey Henry, to the people with cell phones, shut up and drive, before you cause an accident.

Hey Henry, just take a moment and pause to think of the many blessings that have been bestowed upon us. If you think good thoughts, good things will happen.

Hey Henry, does anyone know what Take Gap, Give Gap means at the red light at Highway 42 and Jonesboro Street at the Square in McDonough? People, please be courteous. The next time it may be you coming from the other direction.

Hey Henry, I have always been under the impression that when law enforcement calls a wrecker to pick up the vehicles after a traffic accident, the wrecker driver is required to clean up all broken glass and parts, not push the parts off to the side and leave glass in the street for all the cars to pick up in their tires. Henry County needs to enforce this better.

Hey Henry, thanks to Mayor Lee Stuart for a doing a good job. You are appreciated.

Hey Henry, in response to swimming in the South and Yellow Rivers? The rivers are not clean like they used to be and a 2-year-old child does not have the resistance to bacteria that an adult has. Have you not followed the Amy Copeland story?

Hey Henry, how can I trust our government with billions of T-SPLOST money when they can’t even get a little bridge over the Rock Quarry railroad track built? How many other half-done, lengthy projects would we be signing up for?

Hey Henry, If you are going south on Highway 155 and turning right onto East Lake extension... you have to yield to the people making a u turn. If you have a red light you have to stop on red and yield to those who have a green light, even if you are making a u turn! Green trumps red... every time!

Hey Henry, a shout-out to the South Side Charity Ride for Alzheimer’s, Inglett & Stubbs Int’l, all bike riders, bars, everyone who donated time and money and to Leadfoot for rocking out this past weekend to benefit the Georgia Chapter for Alzheimer’s.on’t need all the calls.
