Tyre Ellis Upchurch
Tyre Ellis Upchurch, age 88 of McDonough, Georgia passed away January 10, 2013. He was born in McDonough, Georgia to the late Jesse Tyre and Arrie Minda Turner Upchurch. He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He retired after over 35 years with Snapper and enjoyed farming. He was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline Piper Upchurch in 2008 and by three sisters.
Survivors include his children, Dayna (Melvin) Mahaffey of Ellijay, Kenneth (Wanda) Upchurch of Marietta, Dennis (Debbie) Upchurch of Pulaski, TN, Robyn (Stewart) Ryan of Cumming; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren; brother, Lamar Upchurch of Macon; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held January 12 from Bethany Baptist Church. Rev. Chuck Sheppard officiated. Interment in church cemetery. Isaac “Ike” Riley, age 78, of Hampton, GA died Friday, January 11, 2013. He was born in Ridgeville, SC to the late Samuel D. and Lela Virginia Riley. Ike was a member of Way of the Cross Baptist Church. He served as a choir director for several churches throughout his life. He had a great sense of humor and you always knew when he entered the room. Ike was a man that loved all kinds of sports especially basketball, but most of all he loved his family.
Mr. Riley is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Stacey (Robin) Watts, McDonough, Kerry Watts, Hampton, Lynn (Jose) Castillo, McDonough, Randy Watts, Locust Grove, Sam (Katie) Watts, Brandon, MS; siblings, Alma Davis, Martinez and Billy Riley, Summerville, SC; 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

John C. Henry
John C. Henry (JC), age 90, of Stockbridge, GA passed away suddenly on January 11, 2013. He was born and raised in the Salem Community and attended school in McDonough.
JC is survived by his wife of 60 years; Inge Henry, Stockbridge and numerous cousins on both the Henry and Wilson sides of the family. JC is preceded in death by his parents; George and Dessa Henry and his three brothers; Coleman, Hoke, and Charles Henry.

Michael R. Pumphrey
Mr. Michael R. Pumphrey, age 70 of McDonough, Georgia passed away January 11, 2013. Mike was born in Joliet, Illinois to the late Earl Russell and Cecile Tennessee Riel Pumphrey. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. He was a salesman for TSYS Systems and enjoyed fishing and was a music lover.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Pumphrey of McDonough; children, Robert (Carrie) Pumphrey of San Diego, CA, Michelle (Brian) Martin of San Diego, CA, Mark Pumphrey of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Michael, Madison, Matthew, Rachel, Melissa and Johnnie; siblings, Pat (Pete) Cahill of Peotone, IL, Sue (Gene) Cassani of Coal City, IL, Jackie Drick of Acworth, Jim Pumphrey of Livermore, CO.

Arris E. Webb
Arris E. Webb, age 57, of Stockbridge, GA died January 13, 2013. He was born in Newport, TN to the late Alvin and Doris Edmonds Webb. Arris was retired from the U.S. Army. He served in Japan, Egypt and Desert Storm. He was preceded in death by his brother Dennis Webb.
Mr. Webb is survived by his spouse: Anna R. Webb, Stock-bridge; children: William (Teresita) Custer, WA; Tracey M. (Troy) Baker; Keith A. (Kristina) Custer; WA; grandchildren: Tia, Ivi, Collin and Kialanna Custer, T.J, Kyla and Dylan Baker, Josef Esley Custer; siblings: Alvin (Shirley) Webb, Newport, TN, Roger Webb, Newport, TN; Janice (Mickey) Clark, Morristown, TN; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jose L. “Peppe” Castillo, age 59, of McDonough, GA died Sunday, January 13, 2013. He was born in Atlanta, GA to Jose Luis and Joyce Evans Castillo. He was a member of Community Bible Church.

Joe Francis Collins
Mr. Joe Francis Collins, age 77, of Locust Grove, GA passed away January 14, 2013. Joe was born in Ninety Six, South Carolina the son of the late James Floyd and Reba Vaughn Collins. He served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1954 - 1958. Joe retired from Delta Air Lines as a Senior System Maintenance Coordinator with 35 years of service. He was a member of the Locust Grove United Methodist Church where he served in all areas of the church. Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed watching sports and was known for his talents in wood working.
Survivors are his loving wife of 56 years, Linda Collins of Locust Grove; daughters and sons-in-law, Laura Fowler (Wayne) of Blairsville, Lisa Babb (John) of Cocoa Beach, Florida and Leslie Collins Lively of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Donovan Babb, Brandi B. Crosby, Daniel Fowler, Kayla Cochran, Joseph Fowler, Chris Lively and Ashley Woody; great grandchildren, Ally, Alyssa, and A’mya Woody.
A memorial service for Joe will be held on Sunday, January 27 at 3 p.m. at the Locust Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Buckman officiating.
