Conservative Breakfast Club

  The Conservative Breakfast Club will meet on Saturday, January 5 at Golden Corral, 1755 Jonesboro Road in McDonough. Arrive at 8 a.m., fill your plate and seat yourself in the meeting room. The meeting will begin about 8:30 until 10 a.m. This week long time Republican Camilla Moore will share her wisdom. They hope to see conservatives of all sorts there, whether Democratic, Republican, Libertarian, Independent. Come let us reason together as did our founding fathers two hundred years ago.  We are called for such a time as this.

 

NAMI Meeting

  National Alliance on Mental Illness meetings are held at Jodeco Road United Methodist Church every Thursday night from 7 - 8:30 p.m. sharp. There are two meetings; one for consumers and one for families. Coffee and water are served. The church is located at 1500 Jodeco Road in Stockbridge. McDonough Softball Sign-ups

  McDonough Youth Association will hold registration for softball on January 19, 26 and February 2 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Alexander Park, located at 300 Atlanta Street in McDonough. Visit www.mcdonoughyouth.com  and click on softball for more info.

 

McDonough Blood Drive

  McDonough Presbyterian Church and the American Red Cross will be conducting their next blood drive on Monday, January 21 from 2 until 7 p.m. at the church at 427 McGarity Road in McDonough.  Blood supplies remain at critical levels.  Your donation is needed desperately.  Contact Rick Berry at 678-583-6742 or go to www.givelife.org for an appointment with the McDonough “O” Team.

 

Cub Scouts

 Faith Baptist Church, located at 346 Highway 138 E (Corner of Highway 138 and Millers Mill Road) in Stockbridge, is now sponsoring Cub Scout Pack 346.  This Cub Scout Pack is open to boys in Grades 1 - 5 and meets on Tuesday evenings. Spring Soccer Registration

  Henry County Spring season soccer registration is open for boys and girls ages u3-u19 and Adults Over 30 online at www.hcsa.org. Onsite registration is available at the Mt. Carmel Soccer Complex, 307 North Mount Carmel Road in Hampton from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on January 12, 19, 26 and from 6 until 8 p.m. on January 24.  Waiting list begins February 1. Crossroads Career Network

  Crossroads Career Network meets at Stockbridge First UMC, 4863 N. Henry Blvd., Monday, January 21, 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall (lower level at rear of building).  Guest Speaker: Jim Day, Business Intelligence Analyst and Career Help Ministry Team Leader.  Topic: “The New Crossroads Career Network Web Platform.”   Childcare provided. Heritage Writers Group

  The Heritage Writers Group has new meeting times. They now meet the first and third Saturdays of each month from 2 until 4 p.m. All writers are invited to visit. Bring two pages double spaced of something you have written to read. They have a lot of fun, and get a lot done. Meetings are held in the Educational Building behind the Church of Christ, 400 Lake Dow Road in McDonough.

 

Families Anonymous

 Families Anonymous, a world wide Twelve-Step self-help support program for relatives and friends concerned about and affected by substance abuse or behavioral problems of a loved one, has announced the start of a new group in McDonough. This new group will meet at Wesley Way United Methodist Church each Monday at 7 p.m. No dues or fees are required and they use first names only at the meetings to preserve individual anonymity.  The McDonough Chapter of Star Touring and Riding has their monthly meeting on the last Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. in Chevy's just off the Square in McDonough.
