Mrs. Juanita McDonald, age 83, passed away December 21, 2012 at Sacred Journey Hospice Center. At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by all five of her children and several of her grandchildren. Mrs. McDonald will be remembered as a fun-loving and caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother who dearly loved the Christmas Season. Mrs. McDonald was preceded in death by her two infant sons, Johnny and Paul Burton.
She is survived by five children, Jeanne Ann Abbott, Linda Eppes, Barbara Jones, Debbie Burton and Randy Burton; eight grandchildren, David Sumners, Heather Jackson Knight, Jason Berry, Robin Bassett, Allison Aaron, Travis Jones, Luke Jones and John Burton; eight great grandchildren, Sydney, Sarah and Tyler Sumners, Madison, Kaitlyn, and Lauren Jackson, Micheala and Caden Bassett; and, two siblings--Dorothy Coe and Carl Darden.
A Memorial Service was held Wednesday, December 26 at Southcare Cremation and Funeral Society, Stockbridge.
Mr. O.W. “Warren” Bishop, 88, of Hampton, GA died December 22, 2012. He proudly served in the US Army during World War II. He was a building contractor throughout the South Metro Atlanta area for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years Annette Bishop; five children Pamela (Larry) Hogue of Blairsville, Fred W. Bishop of Newnan, Phil R. Bishop of Hampton, Paula (John) Littleton of Fayetteville, and Jody S. Bishop of Hampton; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters and several nieces and nephews.

David Russell Colomb
David Russell Colomb, age 57, died December 22, 2012. David was predeceased in death by his maternal grandparents, Annie Roche Guillot and Alfred Guillot; his paternal grandparents, Alma Mouton Colomb and Louis Henry Colomb all of whom were from Lafayette, Louisiana.
David is survived by his parents, Beverly Guillot Colomb and Russell Louis Colomb of Lafayette, Louisiana; his highschool sweetheart and wife of thirty-five years, Lisa Pyle Colomb, one son, Casey David Colomb of Atlanta; one daughter, Danielle Colomb Becker and her husband Jason Aaron Becker and three grandchildren, Jackson Alexander, Isabella Grace and Sophia Monique all of McDonough, Georgia; two brothers, Garry Louis Colomb, his wife Roxeen Landry Colomb of Lafayette, Louisiana and Marc Alfred Colomb of Memphis TN; extended family included his father-in-law, Allen Richard Pyle, his mother-in-law, Betty Jean Morgan Pyle, his sister-in-law, Catherine Lynn Pyle, and his brother-in-law, Allen Richard Pyle, Jr. and his wife Joyce Pyle, and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held December 28 at Community Bible Church in Stockbridge. Ed Johnson, age 81, of Stockbridge, GA died Saturday, December 22, 2012. He was born in Bowden to Alonzo Levi and Missouri Chelonas Harper Johnson. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Stock-bridge.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his sons: Mike (Darlene) Johnson, Rex and Alan (Tasha Olivi) Johnson, Marietta; granddaughters: Cindy (Craig) Carmack, Locust Grove and Vicki Read, Rex; great-grandchildren: Jeremy, Ciara, Summer, Kyndall and Ethan. sisters-in-law: Glenda Gosik, Forest Park and Helene Sauls, St. Petersburg, FL. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his spouse, Mary Elizabeth Johnson.

Thelma Draughon Strickland
Thelma Draughon Strickland, age 91, of Locust Grove, GA died December 22, 2012. She was born in Dunn, NC to the late William and Irene Bryant Draughon. Thelma graduated from Plain View High School in 1938. She married Malcolm Strickland and lived for over seventy years in the Corinth community. She was a devoted member of Corinth Free Will Baptist Church. Thelma and her husband were farmers, and she was an excellent seamstress. She loved to work in her garden and take care of her flowers. Mrs. Strickland was preceded in death by her husband, Malcolm, son, Kenneth Strickland, daughter-in-law Ann Strickland and granddaughter, Teresa Strickland.
Mrs. Strickland is survived by twin daughters: Linda (Printice) Harris, Locust Grove, Glinda (Hector) Davis, Fayetteville, NC; granddaughter: Dr. Wendy (Dr. Michael) Biddle, Griffin; sisters: Ruth Tew, Dunn, NC, Mary Faircloth, Siler City, NC; sisters-in-law: Patsy West, Greensboro, NC, Toka Draughon, Dunn, NC, Fannie Bell Braughon, Myrtle Beach, SC; brother-in-law Howard Campbell, Cary, NC.

Lela "Nanny" Cooper, age 77, of Stockbridge, GA died Sunday, December 23, 2012. She was born in Knoxville, TN to the late Harvey and Fannie Mae Gaddis. Lela was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Gainey Cooper and a grandson, Joey Guy Cooper.
Mrs. Cooper is survived by her children; James (Patricia) Cooper, McDonough and Janelle Smith,Villa Rica; grandchildren: Amiee, Mandy, Chastiy, Destany and Sasha, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Marjorie Charline Coy Jackson
Mrs. Marjorie Charline Coy Jackson, age 79, of Stockbridge, GA passed away December 24, 2012. Charline was born in Atlanta the daughter of the late Relton Clifford and Marjorie Christine Martin Coy. Charline enjoyed spending time with family and friends, her church, Bible study groups and her dog, “Buddy.” She was a member of North Henry Baptist Church.
Survivors are her children, Michael E. Smith (Ginny) of Stockbridge, Pamela Christine Piedra (Ruben) of Stockbridge, and Marjorie Lynn Lyons (Tom) of Stockbridge; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; step children, Mike Cawthon, Pam White and Butch Jackson; and nieces and nephews.

Donald Wayne Rawls, Sr.
Donald Wayne Rawls, Sr., age 58, of Stockbridge, Georgia passed away Monday, December 24, 2012. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Raymond Luther and Catherine Ganell Short Rawls, Sr. Donnie attended the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro and was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, wrestling and the Atlanta Braves.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Debbie Rawls; sons, Donald (Keisha) Rawls of McDonough, Dwayne Rawls of Stockbridge and Derrick (Amanda) Rawls of Stock-bridge; grandchildren, D.J., Sarah, Eric, Katie, Jacob, Chloe and Emma; siblings, Norman (Debbie) Rawls of Pensacola, FL, Richard (Irene) Rawls of Jonesboro and Evelyn (Wesley) Gaines of Macon; several nieces and nephews.

Bradley Steven Plant
Mr. Bradley Steven Plant, age 29 of Hampton, Georgia passed away December 26, 2012. He was born in Jonesboro, Georgia to Steven and Kathy Plant. Bradley enjoyed sports, especially football, fishing and was an avid movie buff. He loved being Uncle Bradley to his niece and nephew. Bradley was baptized at the Potter’s House.
Survivors include his parents, Steven and Kathy Plant of Hampton; sister, Amanda (James) Elzey of Stockbridge; niece and nephew, Fisher and Tybee Elzey; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
