Juried art show set for January 11

By Melissa Robinson
Contributing Editor

Whether you're an artist, an arts enthusiast or simply a person who enjoys beauty, you'll want to mark your calendar for Friday, January 11 as McDonough Arts kicks off its 2013 season with a Juried Art Show and Annual Members Reception at Winsor Gallery, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mike England's painting “Gardener's Peaches” won the 2012 Best in Show.                                                         Special photo

The event is free and open to the public, and organizers urge anyone interested to come out and enjoy a great winter evening and learn more about McDonough Arts while enjoying complimentary refreshments, fine art and warm fellowship.

During the event, more than $1,000 will be awarded for Best of Show, first place, second place and third place. The Juried Art exhibit will be on display at Winsor Gallery through the end of February and includes paintings in acrylics, oils, pastels and watercolors.

The Winsor Gallery is located at 34 Macon St. in McDonough. For more information, visit www.mcdonougharts.net or contact media coordinator Debbie Withers at 678-522-4020 or debwithers@gmail.com or event coordinator Vicki Anglyn at 770-957-7292.
