Crossroads Career Network

  Crossroads Career Network meets on Monday, December 17, at 7 p.m. in the Stockbridge UMC Fellowship Hall (lower level at rear of building).  Guest Speaker: Craig Anderson, founder and Executive Director of Our History Project.  Topic: “Your Image on Social Media.” There will be a signup sheet for LinkedIn photo sessions to be scheduled in the near future. NAMI Meeting

  National Alliance on Mental Illness meetings are held at Jodeco Road United Methodist Church every Thursday night from 7 - 8:30 p.m. sharp. Free Vision Screening

 Eye’s Right Contacts and Eyeglasses offers a free vision screening for children ages 4-18 every Monday, Tuesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and 2 until 5 p.m. The store is located at 6965 Hwy. 42 South, Suite 125, in Locust Grove.

Star Touring and Riding

 The McDonough Chapter of Star Touring and Riding has their monthly meeting on the last Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. in Chevy’s just off the Square in McDonough. Enjoy family friendly fellowship with some fun loving folks who ride all kinds of bikes and go to all kinds of great destinations. Christmas Lights Show

  The Holiday Hills Animated light show is up and running.  Come and see the show from inside your car. Watch as their 20 foot tree dances. They have arches that bounce back and forth, stars and snowflakes that flicker. All to the tunes of Christmas music. The show runs every night from 6 until 10 p.m. (unless there is bad weather). The show is located at 99 East Mays Road in Stockbridge.

Spring Soccer Registration

  Henry County Spring season soccer registration is open for boys and girls ages u3-u19 and Adults Over 30 online at www.hcsa.org. Onsite registration is available at the Mt. Carmel Soccer Complex, 307 North Mount Carmel Road in Hampton from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. on January 12, 19, 26 and from 6 until 8 p.m. on January 24.  Waiting list Begins February 1.  Heritage Writers Group

 The Heritage Writers Group has new meeting times. They now meet the first and third Saturdays of each month from 2 until 4 p.m. All writers are invited to visit. Bring two pages double spaced of something you have written to read. They have a lot of fun, and get a lot done. Meetings are held in the Educational Building behind the Church of Christ, 400 Lake Dow Road, McDonough.

Families Anonymous

 Families Anonymous, a world wide Twelve-Step self-help support program for relatives and friends concerned about and affected by substance abuse or behavioral problems of a loved one, has announced the start of a new group in McDonough. This new group will meet at Wesley Way United Methodist Church each Monday at 7 p.m. No dues or fees are required and they use first names only at the meetings to preserve individual anonymity.
