The McDonough Lions Club
has announced the winners of their Lions International Peace
Poster Contest. This contest encourages children in middle
school, ages 11-13, to creatively express what peace means to
them. Thanks to Dr. Kent Morrow of the Henry County Board of
Education for allowing the McDonough Lions Club to engage the
middle schools of Henry County in this contest. Thanks also to
Strong Rock Christian School for participating.

School, who displays the poster that won her first place for
her school in the Lions International Peace Poster Contest.

The first place winners
are eligible for advancing to the next level on up to the
international level for the grand prize.
The McDonough Lions Club
would like to thank Mr. Joe Hawkins, a teacher at the
Stockbridge Middle School and Mrs. Margaret Livingston of Strong
Rock Christian School for inspiring their students to
participate.
The McDonough Lions Club
gave cash awards to the top three winners:
Stockbridge; 1st - Akash
Parikh - $75; 2nd - Michael Lokou - $50; 3rd - Stella John -
$25.
Strong Rock; 1st - Myles Villafranca - $75;
2nd - Ashley Schwendinger - $50; 3rd - Cole Miller - $25.
