An Evening in Christmas Song

  The Henry Singers will present An Evening in Christmas Song on Saturday, December 15, at 7:30 p.m. at the McDonough Presbyterian Church. The church is located at 427 McGarity Road in McDonough. Admission is free.

 

Genealogical Society Christmas Open House

  The Genealogical Society of Henry and Clayton Counties, Inc. cordially invites you to their Christmas Open House to be held December 11 at 7 p.m. at the Brown House, 71 Macon St., in McDonough. Please come share their hospitality and learn about four Free Basic Genealogy Classes to be held January 18, January 25, February 1, and a February 8 trip to the Georgia Archives. Crossroads Career Network

  Crossroads Career Network meets on Monday, December 17, at 7 p.m. in the Stockbridge UMC Fellowship Hall (lower level at rear of building).  Guest Speaker: Craig Anderson, founder and Executive Director of Our History Project.  Topic: “Your Image on Social Media.” There will be a signup sheet for LinkedIn photo sessions to be scheduled in the near future. Christmas Tree Lighting

  Piedmont Henry Hospital presents its 10th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Thursday, December 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the hospital’s South lawn. Enjoy refreshments, hayrides with Santa courtesy of Southern Belle Farm and music provided by local choirs including Piedmont Henry’s Employee Choir. NAMI Meeting

  National Alliance on Mental Illness meetings are held at Jodeco Road United Methodist Church every Thursday night from 7 - 8:30 p.m. sharp. There are two meetings; one for consumers and one for families. Coffee and water are served. The church is located at 1500 Jodeco Road in Stockbridge. Hampton Events

  The community is invited to attend Christmas @ Home in Hampton on December 6. The parade line-up begins at 6:30 p.m. at Hampton Elementary School. The parade begins at 7 p.m. There will be live reindeer with Santa, snow on East Main Street. Local businesses will be open for holiday shopping. Listen to Hampton Idol 2012, sing Christmas songs at the depot park, and enjoy music by DJ JT.

 

Free Vision Screening

 Eye’s Right Contacts and Eyeglasses offers a free vision screening for children ages 4-18 every Monday, Tuesday and Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and 2 until 5 p.m. The store is located at 6965 Hwy. 42 South, Suite 125, in Locust Grove.

 

Star Touring and Riding

 The McDonough Chapter of Star Touring and Riding has their monthly meeting on the last Wednesday of every month at 7 p.m. in Chevy’s just off the Square in McDonough. Enjoy family friendly fellowship with some fun loving folks who ride all kinds of bikes and go to all kinds of great destinations.
