Heritage Writers Group The Heritage Writers Group has new meeting times. They now meet the first and third Saturdays of each month from 2 until 4 p.m. All writers are invited to visit. Bring two pages double spaced of something you have written to read. They have a lot of fun, and get a lot done. Meetings are held in the Educational Building behind the Church of Christ, 400 Lake Dow Road in McDonough.
St. James Hollydaze The Council of Catholic Women at St. James Catholic Church will be host their annual “Hollydaze Arts and Crafts Show” Saturday, November 17 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. The Church is located at 1000 Highway 155 North in McDonough. Locust Grove Events The Lighting of the Christmas Tree will be November 22 at 7 p.m. at City Hall, featuring local talent and the arrival of Santa via the “Little Red” fire engine. Parents should bring cameras for pictures. Girls Night in The Grove will be November 29 from 6 until 9 p.m. in Historic Downtown Locust Grove. There will be lots of shopping, a winter fashion show, cider, music and a visit by our favorite girlfriend “Maxine.” Call 770-692-2320 for more info.
Red Cross Blood Drive McDonough Presbyterian Church and the American Red Cross will hold their next blood drive on Monday, November 19 from 2 until 7 p.m. at the church. The devastation of super storm Sandy and injuries received have put blood supplies at critical levels. Your donation is needed desperately.
