  Since 1825, the First Baptist Church of McDonough has been a mainstay of the faith community around the McDonough Square. Providing a place for worship and for community outreach has given the congregation a purpose that continues until the present day. FBC McDonough is now taking a big step of faith in their local ministry. On Sunday, October 28, the church officially opens a new location called the First Baptist Church McDonough - West Campus. It is located at 2176 Jonesboro Road in McDonough, just west of the Target shopping center. The downtown campus will remain on Macon Street, providing all their programs and ministries as usual.

  “The vision of becoming a multi-campus church has been a vision of mine and of our staff for several years,” Senior Pastor Charles J. Thomas said. “The west campus church was birthed out of a great need to find more space for our members since both of our Sunday morning worship services were becoming full. We have commissioned 50 of our most adventurous members to act as the founding leadership. We now have room to grow again at the downtown campus and the invaluable leadership to create a vibrant church at the west campus.”

  Since the first Sunday in October, one hundred worshippers have been meeting at the new location, and they are excited about the grand opening of this campus on Sunday.

 ”First Baptist McDonough’s future has never been brighter. We are poised to extend our reach from our downtown campus to the west side of Henry County,” continued Thomas. “We are still keeping our eyes focused on building a new worship center at the downtown campus in the next several years. First Baptist Church of McDonough is one of the most unassuming churches in Henry County and is staffed with some of the finest ministry leaders.
