Mr. Gerry Haase, age 75 of McDonough, GA passed away September 21, 2012. Gerry was born in St. Joseph, Michigan to the late Alfred Robert and Wilma Ida Antonovitch Haase. He retired after 40 years with Whirlpool Corporation and was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking.

Terri Gaines, age 62, of Stockbridge, GA died Sunday, September 23, 2012. She was born in Atlanta, GA to the late Vert Lee and Emma Belle Byars Woodson. Terri was employed at Stockbridge Elementary School. She was a member of Rock Baptist Church.
Terri is survived by her daughter, Tracey (Brandon) Thomas, Winder; son, Randy (Kristen) Gaines, Jonesboro; father of Tracey and Randy, Ralph Gaines, Douglasville; brother, Anthony Woodson, Charleston, SC; and 7 grandchildren.

Brandon Charles Roy
Mr. Brandon Charles Roy, age 38 of McDonough, Georgia passed away September 24, 2012. He was born in Lansing, Michigan to Keith and Holly Roy. Brandon graduated from Holt High School, Class of 1992 then went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from Ferris State University of Big Rapids, MI and was employed with Silgan Plastics. He was a member of the Society of Plastics Engineering and the International and Clayton County Chapters of the Harley Owner Group. He was an avid Michigan sports fan including the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings.
Survivors include his wife, Kristi Huber Roy of McDonough; his unborn daughter, Audrey Elizabeth Roy; parents, Keith and Holly Roy of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Bryan Roy of McDonough; sister, Breanna Roy of Myrtle Beach, SC; maternal grandmother, Phyllis Panetta of Grand Ledge, MI; fraternal grandfather, Rodger (Virginia) Bagnieschi of Muskegon, MI; mother in law, Mary (Eric Matthes) Huber of Harrison, MI; sister-in- law and brother-in-law, Michelle and Jeffrey Hoskey of Harrison, MI; brother-in-law, David Danberry; nephew, Hayden Stornant; nieces, Alexa, Keelyn, Kira and Reise.

Oscar Eugene “Gene” Wells
Mr. Oscar Eugene “Gene” Wells, Sr., age 82, of Jenkinsburg, GA, passed away Monday, September 24, 2012 at Westbury Medical Care Home. He was born May 10, 1930 in Griffin to the late James Butler Wells and the late Cora Lee Ogleby Wells. Mr. Wells was a member of County Line Baptist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Wells.
Mr. Wells is survived by his wife of 18 years, Vera Wells; children, Butch Wells, Bruce Wells, David Kerrison, Deanna and Kenneth McIntyre, Jimmy Kerrison, Leanna and Billy Sims, Patricia Combs and Robby Kerrison; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Elzie and Dorothy Wells and Johnny and Betty Wells; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lawrence Edsel Pilgrim, age 70, of McDonough, GA passed away September 27, 2012. He was born in Jefferson, AL the son of the late Rader Connie and Ruth Nancy Wendt Pilgrim. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching TV, sports, fishing, being active in his church, singing, and an avid Alabama Fan. He was a member of West Sunnyside Pentecostal Church. He was preceded in death by wives, Connie Blackstock Pilgrim and Judy Mosely Pilgrim; daughter, Lisa Stephenson; and several siblings.
Survivors are his wife, Frankie Pilgrim of McDonough; children, David Pilgrim (Becky) of West Columbia, SC, Billy Hobby (Elaine) of McDonough, Ray Hobby (Starla) of Hampton, Terry Hobby (Lenola) of Jackson, Sharon Goddard (Tony) of Stockbridge, and James and Marie Brooks of Stockbridge; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; sisters, Florence Blackstock of Rutledge, Jeanette David of Alpharetta, AL, Betty Payton (J.D.) of Irondale, AL, and Sara Sims of Irondale, AL; numerous nieces and nephews.

Hayden Delmar Vickers
Mr. Hayden Delmar Vickers, age 86, of Jackson, Georgia passed away September 29, 2012. Mr. Vickers was born in Wigham, GA the son of the late Delmar and Cleo Harrison Vickers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Langley Vickers and siblings, Eldridge Vickers and Doris Vickers. Mr. Vickers served his country in the US Army from 1945 – 1947 receiving his WWII Victory Medal. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, fishing, camping, motorcycles and trains.
Survivors are his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Heather Vickers of Jackson; grandchildren, Katie, Jennifer and Travis Vickers; siblings, Oneida Shepherd, Eugene Vickers, James Vickers and Bonial Vickers; several nieces and nephews.

Tony Bennett, age 59, of McDonough, GA died Friday, September 28, 2012. He was born in Atlanta to James B. and Annie C. Brannan Bennett. Mr. Bennett was a member of Sharon Baptist Church in McDonough.

Samuel Marshall Grogan Jr.
Mr. Samuel Marshall Grogan Jr., age 64, of McDonough, GA passed away September 29, 2012. Mr. Grogan was born in Trion, GA. He was a graduate of Berry College and received his masters from the University of Georgia. He taught in the Clayton County School System for Forest Park High School and Morrow Junior High School. Mr. Grogan and his late wife Diane were members of the Florida and Kansas City Barbecue Societies where they won many competitions. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, fishing, camping, the mountains, telling jokes, and was known to all for his loving smile. He was a member of McDonough First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Marshall Grogan SR; and his loving wife of 45 years, Diane Allmon Grogan.
Survivors are his daughters and their husbands, Stephanie and Iqbal Garcha of Atlanta, Jamie and Kevin Steinmeyer of Milledgeville and Jennifer and Scott Deason of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Alex and Andrew Garcha, Presley and Kylie B. Steinmeyer, Allie Jewell and Josie Deason; mother, Lois Grogan of Trion; sister, Hilda Hood of Lafayette and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Mr. Grogan will be Saturday, October 6 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Waers officiating.
