Hogs, Hot Rods and Harleys

Calling all motorcycles and muscle cars for the first ever Hogs, Hot Rods and Harleys Fall Festival that will take place on Saturday, October 13 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Alexander Park in McDonough.

McDonough Hospitality and  Tourism and Main Street McDonough are hosting  the festival, which will also feature a barbecue contest to find the tastiest butts, tangiest ribs and most savory chicken. Judges will select the best ribs and chicken and the best Boston will be decided by the people in the People’s Choice Award. Cash prizes will be awarded in the barbecue contests as well as the car and cycle contests. Organizers are also taking applications for food vendors, crafters and other merchant displays.

According to Jennifer Price, Director of Tourism for the City of McDonough, the all-day festival will feature something for everyone, including a full line-up of musical entertainment with the headliner Will Turpin and the Way taking the evening stage. Other groups scheduled to perform include Collective Soul’s Joel Kosche, J.K. and the Lost Boys, and local band Full House. There will also be a kids' section with bounce houses, face painting and more.

Entry fee for motorcycles and cars is $25 and the barbecue cooking team entry fee is $100 with McDonough Hospitality and Tourism and Main Street McDonough supplying the butts.

For more information, visit www.tourmcdonough.com, or email office@tourmcdonough.com or call Price at 770-898-3196. Volunteer opportunities are also available.
