George David Horner Mr. George David Horner, age 75 of McDonough, GA passed away June 22, 2012. Born and raised in Tennessee he was the son of the late Erwin and Louise Woodby Horner. George made the city of McDonough his home, serving on the Board of Zoning Appeals for our municipal government. He was a founding and active member of the Henry County Tennis Association expanding the sport throughout the community. He took part in the process of building each court as well as the tennis center at Craig Park. Mr. Horner is survived by his daughter, Ruth Ann Liggett of McDonough; grandson, David Thomas Liggett and great granddaughter, Brooke Liggett of McDonough; mother of his children, Margaret Horner of McDonough; son, Steve Horner of Dothan, AL; sister, Helen (Joe) Sturgeon of Knoxville, TN. An informal gathering for Mr. Horner was held June 30 at the Henry County Tennis Center at Richard Craig Park. Pastor Dave Riley officiated. Emily Clyde McWilliams Heggood Mrs. Emily Clyde McWilliams Heggood, age 88 of McDonough, Georgia passed away June 23, 2012. Mrs. Heggood was born in Atlanta, GA the daughter of the late Robert Lewis and Emily Clyde Atkinson McWilliams Sr. Mrs. Heggood worked most of her working career in retail sales for Rich’s Department Store. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, being active in the church when she was able, cooking and her doll house hobby. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Hugh Heggood Jr and siblings. Survivors are her children, Emily Jean Hitchcock of Dawsonville, Ricky Hugh Heggood (Sally) of Decatur, and Penelope Jane Minh (Tran) of Stockbridge; 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Mrs. Heggood was held June 26 in the chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Dr. Charles Thomas officiating. Interment Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Eloise Pritchett Lasseter Eloise Pritchett Lasseter, of Hampton, Georgia, passed away June 24, 2012. She was born October 12, 1924, in Lovejoy, Georgia to the late Raymond and Katie Exum Pritchet. She and her husband enjoyed spending time at their house in Hiawassee, Georgia, as they also served churches in the Southeast. Her 30 years of employment with the federal government included positions with General Services Administration, Forestry Service, and Centers for Disease Control. Her loves included God, family, friends, helping others and her pets. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Robert Hugh Lasseter in 1997. She is survived by her loving sister and brother-in-law, Aline and Hamilton Foster of Forest Park; nephew, Ray and Amy Foster of Bloomington, IN; niece Kathy and Eddie Wise of Hampton; great-nephews and nieces, Jacob and Katy Wise, Jessie and Will Brewer, Rachel Wise, Katy Foster, and Tyler Reynolds. Funeral services were held at County Line Congregational Christian Church on June 27 with Rev. Floyd Carmack officiating. Interment Philadelphia Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Dorothy Loretta Bell Mrs. Dorothy Loretta Bell, age 84 of McDonough, Georgia passed away June 26, 2012. She was born in East Point, GA to the late Roy Hendrix and Andy Elizabeth Cobb Vance. Loretta was a member of the Church of the Harvest in Fayetteville and enjoyed singing. She also played and taught the organ and accordion in earlier years. Survivors include her children, Larry (Doris) Sorrells of Lawrenceville, Angela (Billy) McClain of Locust Grove, Bill (Karen) Sorrells of Snellville, Elizabeth Sorrells of Cartersville, Denise Wade of Cairo, Teresa (Robert) Chapman of Locust Grove, Hiram Bell and Deborah (Robert) McFarland all of Taylorsville; 19 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson, nieces and nephews. Freda Mae Ramsey Mrs. Freda Mae Ramsey, age 89 of McDonough, Georgia passed away June 30, 2012. She was born in Cleveland, Georgia to the late Fred Marion and Lelia Mae Allen Adams. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed fishing and doing crafts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Marion Ramsey and by three sisters and a brother. Survivors include her sister, Myrl (Ralph) Hicks of Dallas; brothers, Wallace (Sue) Adams of McDonough, Walter (Retha) Adams of McDonough; numerous nieces and nephews.
